Good sex - messy sex - messy bed, soaked mattress, lube all over the place, you know how it is.

We've been thru a couple of large rubber-backed bath mats, but it's hard to stay positioned on it. (requires being still)

Suggestions? I've priced rubber sheets thru BDSM suppliers, but dang, 400 or 500 bucks? Really?

Gotta be some ideas out there -

we just use towels. lots of towels. It doesn't keep things CLEAN, but it keeps them from being intolerably messy :p

most of the time anyway :p

I soak thru towels.

Generally our playtimes last for several hours, and I'm a squirter. (Thank god for Gatorade zero)

I noticed Waterproof Matress Covers on the 'net, wonder how they'd work out?

hi Red - I hear ya!

I was kind of embarrassed to post, but what the heck... I'm not a squirter, more of a non-stop "oozer", so I make quite a mess when aroused. a rubber mattress cover works great here... when we got a new bed, I bought one to avoid more embarrassment the next time we replaced a mattress. ;) I don't mind washing sheets, no big deal there. So the rubber cover takes care of business.

just my 2 cents

waterproof mattress covers work.

So do shower curtain liners but they smell bad for a couple of days-- hand one outside for a bit till it stops outgassing.

None of them are as sexy as latex of course... but lot cheaper...

That is an AWESOME idea - shower curtain liners! Dang! Thanks!!

I actually used a car cover for a while. I know it sounds weird but worked pretty well.

Another solution that we came up with is the old 'hotel room' trick. Our bedroom used to be two rooms but we took out a wall to the tiny one next to it and now have one very large bedroom. We now have two beds. Play on one when we know it's going to be an all day "session" then sleep in the other.

My daughter asked why the second bed last month I told her it's for when the wife wants to punish me;)

ha! When we go to San Francisco next month, we're getting a room with 2 queen beds!

Car cover, hmmm...

Yah, I generally will eventually soak through them too. Hence the "sometimes" :p It's mostly a "don't RUIN the bedsheets" method, than a 100% prevention method. That being said, I've had to sleep in a wet spot after soaking through 8 layers of towel before, which is kind of annoying -.-

I'm sure the suggestions of the others would be better, I was just sharing what we do :)

When we used to do wax play I bought some large pick nick style oilskin table cloths. Not the most comfortable but they do work and are relatively inexpensive.

While I have not tried them this way I think they should work if placed under a fitted bottom sheet. That assumes you or Master does not mind changing sheets afterwards.

Old Midwife's trick-

When the top layer gets soaked, strip it/the plastic liner underneath and you have a fresh bed to continue your activities and/or fall asleep. Lather, rinse, repeat. As Stella mentioned, however, you might want to let the shower curtain liners air out a few days to reduce the odors associated with off-gassing.

Nice, thank you!

We use the disposable extra-large underpads made for incontinence. I bring them to use at hotels, too. I put them over the bottom sheet and either put a towel over them or the top sheet and play on the top sheet. They aren't oo expensive if you buy the store brand and are disposable.

OK - if you can get these where you are it will be the best few dollars you have ever spent. We love them so much we have one at his house and one at mine.

They are TOTALLY waterproof (I can squirt pints in a single session, plus we sometimes do watersports in bed) and they are soft and comfy and silent. You just lay it on top of your usual bed sheet (it stays put with the friction due to the fact that it feels like brushed cotton) and then when you're done you whip it off, put it in the laundry basket and go to sleep on your pristine bed. It is machine washable and tumble-dryable.

I've had mine around 8 months and it's had at least twice-weekly washings and tumble-dryings and it's still as good as new.

I tried a LOT of inferior (and often more expensive) solutions before I found this.

Catty, do you know about the quality of the Naturepedic one? Apparently the brand you linked does not exist in the States, at least, not on Amazon!

No, sorry - I know nothing about the Naturepedic one.

All I know is that I spent a lot of money on rival brands of mattress protectors that promised the earth and delivered very inferior results. Yes, I do feel positively evangelical about the hippychick one. I honestly cannot think of a single way in which it could be improved as a sex-sheet.

How much does Amazon UK charge to deliver it to the USA? I know in the past I have had things delivered here in the UK that I've bought from Amazon USA (cos they weren't available from Amazon UK).

I see from Hippychick's own site (link below) that if you order direct they charge £12 delivery worldwide. That's about $18. Might be cheaper on Amazon.

An evangelical PS...

another advantage of the Hippychick sheet is that we just keep it in a drawer in the bedroom and whenever we think we have gone to bed in order to sleep but things start to get.. um.. "heated" in bed, it is the work of literally 10 seconds to get out of bed, get the Hippychick sheet, lay it on the bed and resume the hotness.

Then when the sex is over, just five seconds to get the sheet off the bed and into the laundry basket, then us back into bed for cuddles and sleep.

Oh - and I squirt so VERY much that even after all these months we both always find ourselves feeling the bed-sheet after sex and marvelling at how it's still 100% dry lol.

Awesome thread ... great responses ... Thanks Cattypuss! (from another gusher)

Well and that is exactly the issue...all the squirting....a blessing and a curse ;)

One of my favorite things to hear..."ds, get the pad"

We use the pads that go under crib sheets. They're a good size, can be laid sideways or lengthwise on the bed, are easy to find, flannel covered and fairly inexpensive. Putting them on the bed before we "play" and taking them off after is easy.

My wife squirts as well. We take a bed comforter and fold it in quarters and play on top of that. It gives you four ply of protection now some nights that's not even enough. That's the best thing we have found.

Just to say, don't be afraid to go into a bedding shop and ask for the best waterproof mattress protector they have. I used to work in a bedding shop, and it was very common to get couples in their 20s-30s-40s in asking for them. They wont automatically assume it's for sex, I promise (worst one I ever heard was that it was to prevent the bed getting stained with blood as she went through the menopause :S Thanks for telling me that *rolls eyes*)

I am a squirter so had to chime in. I usually use towels. A fuck load of towels. BUT. I used to work in a sex shop and a super friendly lesbian an I were chatting about the mess of being a squirter and she said she and her girlfriend used dog we-we pads. A bit unorthodox but she said it worked wonders. Plus you throw em out after use and they're super cheap.
I've yet to try it but she swears by it.
