A gal complained that guys she likes romantically always "want to be friends."
I observed that all teenage boys are very familiar with the evil "friend zone," and she had my sympathy.
Then we discussed to "I'm not ready to commit now" zinger.
So which is worse?
"I only want to be friends."

"I'm not ready to commit now"
I vote for te latter because there is more invested by that point.
