good morning :)

the end of daylight savings for another season.... a good thing for me, as i'm tired of waking up in the dark!

yesterday i spent the entire day trying to fix my netbook. i think i finally got there, it seems to be working fine for now.
i got all my paperwork done too! i love it when everything is filed and dealt with
today i'll write a couple of long-overdue letters (yes, the oldfashioned way - with a pen!!!), and maybe have a bit of a play in the kitchen with a new recipe.

lazy sunday :D

We really did enjoy the extra hour of sleep this morning & remember my days of travelling to work down the M4 straight into the sun then towards the end of daylight saving & loved to trip in the dark as seeing was much easier but the when it ended it was back to heading straight into the sun again.

I'm loving the speed of this PC with ADSL compared to the old unwired or dial up we had, we can both have access at the same time with no drop in either BANDIT's:heart: laptop or the PC.

I gave up on the written word so many years ago because of my dyslexia & poor writing skills.

What is the planned recipe your cooking up?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner but got called away. :)

i didn't get much sleep - have been suffering insomnia for the last couple of weeks.
tomorrow i'll go and get my script for sleepers refilled, and then i can get a few nights rest.

we're on 3G wireless here.
there's 3 computers and a pad hooked up atm, and the speed is still very good.
i might have to up the limits though - we tend to run out each month because of the boys playing online games (and when that happens we get slowed down a little).
my problems with my netbook seem to be from a programming conflict - so i have copied all my files to an external hd, and have deleted pretty much everything off the netbook. having no1son as a puter guru is helping... he's checking for conflicts as i put programs back on :D

recipe for tonight? beef kofta with saffron yoghurt :)

has the smell gone yet from the carpet? did my vinegar tip help?

Holy shit. 4 years away and still the same perverted faces when I come back

Makes ya proud.

Good luck with the meds as my insomnia didn't change a thing except it made me dopey the next day. The BS you get given to do more, exercise etc didn't change a thing either.

The carpet smell has either gone or we have got used to it now so all good for us & yes vinegar did help, thanks WQ.

G'day IFITS !!!! long time no see, hows the family going?

Sadly many have wandered away with real life interests but I'm persistant if nothing else. I'd guess WQ & I are the only ones left from the originals but BANDIT:heart: & I were a couple last time you visited here.

Hope all is well with you & yours.

Waste by Woolies

I just got sent this link & was amazed thatone of the 2 biggest supermarkets dosen't believe in the poor, aged or disadvantaged people of this country because they just dump so much food that could & would be welcomed by charities.

Shame on you Wollies & doubt Coles is any different.

Woolies even padlock the bumpster bin to stop anyone getting the usable food out of it. :(

that is a very small snapshot of one or two stores.
woolies here donates a hell of a lot of food to charities - i have witnessed the vans coming to pick up food from the store my son works at - and they give very generously to homeless and disadvantaged in tas.

So glad to hear this WQ, maybe it's just the coldness of big cities on the mainland that has this problem as I have seen them doing this at 2 different locations in the general area I live in.

45 days.
that's how long the man has been gone this time.
he's coming home tomorrow  so i will be away for most of the next 30 days
i'm sooooooo looking forward to seeing him!

i've been a bit busy the last few days - getting my garden back up to scratch for winter!
it's a big job.... and so far it's been just myself and the boys.
and i've just been diagnosed with severe tendonitis in the elbow, so now i can't do things like weeding, pruning, etc.
next week i'll have a cortisone injection to help with the pain, but i'll still need to wear the brace for the next 6 weeks to 6 months to aid healing.

it's almost like the more weight i lose, the more things break on my body :(
or maybe that's just age.

Admittedly mine wasn't as bad as yours sounds WQ, but I had a niggling shoulder injury (small tear in a tendon) that responded well to acupuncture. I'm back to normal weights at the gym and back to boxing too.

Have fun with the man! ;) :D

A friend of mine used to work for a bakery - legally, they were NOT ALLOWED to donate their left over food at the end of the day...so it all went in the bin (or staff could take what they wanted). Why, you may ask? Because food may be contaminated and not safe to eat (apparently) and so they'd have to get extra insurance just incase someone got sick from the left over food.
Shame, isn't it?

WQ - have fun when you man gets home - and try not to do yourself any more damage!! :D

Well, I'm all moved into my new place. Of course, there are so mang things that aren't working properly. The "reticulated gardens" is a timer on the hose (no kidding!) and the front security screen lock and side door locks needed replacing. I wish they gave me all the keys at the final inspection - technically they should ALL have been working! Add that to the giant concrete slab in the middle of the house (hidden under carpet) it's a couple of grand extra that I'd not expected to need to spend right now. The concrete bit will have to wait until I have some more cash! It's more important for me to get new carpet and curtains in my room. Everything else is okay....for now!

I can't beleive it's the end of the week already. I'm not ready to go back to work next week!

I hope everyone is well and happy

Strange thoughts with the bakery as Bakers Delight reduce the prices near the end of trading & what is left is dontated to charities.

I also have WQ has a fantastic time catching up with her man & think she might be right with the weight loss adding to her problems plus the dreaded age thing too.

Amazing how many things you find once your into a new place with so many problems turning up.

i'm going for the cortisone injection.... i don't like having them, because they mask the pain (which is what stops you from damaging the injury more) but my arm is absolutely killing me :(
wearing the brace is something i'm getting used to, but after 4 to 6 hrs wearing that, there's all sorts of other pain to deal with.
aaaaaarrrrrgggghhh!

some of these issues should be taken care of by your sales agent, surely?
like the locks - if it was in the contract, they need to get it fixed. because they were supposed to check it if it was represented to you as the purchaser, as being functional.
i'd look into that, could save you some $.

i am running around today like a headless chook - i want to get all the major stuff done (housework-y stuff) and pre-cook and freeze a few meals.... because if last time he came home is anything to go by, i won't have much energy left to do anything in the next week!

my age definitely has something to do with injuries.... i turned 43 a couple of weeks ago!
