The Vernal Equinox for 2011 (Northern Hemisphere) happens March 20th at 23:21 (so, generally speaking, is really on March 21st, kinda). But I figure we can celebrate both the 20th and the 21st. Here's to Spring! (And to those in the Southern Hemisphere...happy Autumnal Equinox).

And now, if you'll keep your eye on the avatar there and use your imagination, I, through the avatar, shall do a dance to Spring. Feel free to join me. "Ode to Spring...."

Just as a clarification, the time of 23:21 is given as UTC (Universal Coordinated Time). Keep in mind that Spring springs at different hours, depending on your local time zone. For us left coasters, for example, Spring begins at 4:21 pm PDT. So, be sure to make adjustments as necessary, according to your offset from UTC. I wouldn't want anybody to miss it.

The Little Green Snake thinks all these rumors of Spring are premature. Kristal, on the other hand, is in full accord with you, 3.

My fresia are starting to bloom and my reniculas look like they will open soon. If the rain doesn't ruin the blooms.

Truckee was reporting snow levels of 107 to 187 inches at the resorts. More expected tomorrow.

Highway 80 had 55,000 tone of snow removed today.

Sounds like spring. :)

Thanks for that. I wish someone would tell the weather it is Autumn here. It was about 32c today and it's about 28c now and it's 8pm...

That's the spirit ladies! Come along! There's more dancing to be done if we want to move into true Spring/Autumn! Hold hands and follow me....and swish that toga around a bit.

32C Handley, not 32F...............freakin hot. Around 85F.

Or were you being sarcastic???

I nearly blacked out from heat stroke last night. It needs to cool the fuck down. Bring on the cold weather!!! :D

I was out today dancing, well trying, the double sweats, gore tex parka, rain hat and wellingtons, made me a bit clumsy, and my toga wouldn't swish, too water logged.

Maybe it'll get to 55F tomorrow?

Snowed here in Toronto today. Enough to shovel, if I still needed to. 5 cm (2 inches)

I've seen worse. I've lived in places where it snowed in June.

It's been snowing here in Jersey again...

Tuesday was a perfect day for my Statue of Liberty excursion, with snow the day before and two days after...

And it's been snowing here in...well, in the mountains just beyond where I live. 45degrees F--that's cold for us. And I already put away all my winter sweaters to switch to Spring Togas!

Guess I'll have to dance indoors. :(

This part of the dance signifies "Oh woe! Winter is still with us! Won't you come and save us, fair and mild Spring? We're freezing in our togas!"

Can't dance today, 40 mph winds, driving rain, 49f. Just a spring day.

Dana's been bitching about it being Spring according to the calendar all week and I've been tempted to post several others, but this one was just so much like 3113 I finally cracked. :p
I've been celebrating and dancing to spring in spite of the rain and snow. I only "woe'd once." It's everyone else who thinks it's not spring yet because of the snow. ;)

And my celebratory dance continues.

This is me, embracing the spring no matter how much rain or snow. I believe it's here. I dance to it's being here.
