I was wondering if any of our lovely Ladies had a fetish for nerds? If so please tell us what sort (tech nerd, book nerd, etc.)

indeed I do! Nerd's have a have a passion for something no matter what it is and I like passionate people. And sometimes it's just nice to break a pattern in someone and show them something new.but then I need to enjoy debauchery.:p

Being that I am kind of a geek myself, I've always gotten along well with male geeks - mainly of the gamer, science fiction fan, and fantasy fan varieties, but also anime fans, writers, artists, musicians...

I'm not quite sure what you mean by nerd, but, intellectually speaking, knowledge is power. I'm not sure if it's a fetish (eh, labels are complicated), but I've always thought that being attracted to a scientist or an engineer or a professor in some other male dominated field is just an alternative manifestation to being attracted to a physically powerful man. I think this can be (but is not always) true of women who base their self-worth in their intellectual abilities. If our strength is our mind, then we can get turned on by men who can, at times, dance circles around our arguments and logic.

So yeah, I'm attracted to men who can turn my logic inside out, especially those who are able to just sit back, watch me argue for eons, and then cut my argument down with a few short and well-placed words. Yum. He's not only powerful, but as a partner he helps me grow as a person. (That's not to say he always wins, lol; I can hold my own, thanks)

And if a man is both brilliant and physically sexy as hell, and shares my other bedroom proclivities... well, what more could you ask for? There's a reason I married a triathlete engineer. ;)

[EDIT: I totally chickened out and removed some more lines here that had text from a maybe story... sorry, I'm lame and self-conscious like that]

Love this. Second!

I love nerds of all possible stripes. I am one myself! Nerd power FTW *fist pump*
What can I say? Smart is sexy.

I agree smart is sexy and so is being logically adept :) I love it when a woman can challenge me mentally.

MMmm *raises hand* something about a man that can stimulate me mentally as well as physically, just makes me *geek* out with arousal.. heheh :devil:

I fell for my husband when I walked into a classroom where we'd hang out in high school. He was building a Robotech Veratech model and I was hooked. Took two and a half years of chasing but I caught him and his talented fingers.

There's just something about a guy who can paint the tiniest detail with a stead hand and then go launch a rocket that catches my eye. He's also a very kind and gets along well with others, even me.

Nerds are hot. Model building nerds have fine hand control, which is handy in other situations too.

I definitely do. Like everyone else has said, there's something really sexy about a man who knows exactly what he's talking about. I fantasize about teachers and really educated men frequently. Also, I think it's partly the connotation that nerds are geeky, uncool and inexperienced, like they haven't "gotten any." I have a huge thing for innocence and inexperience.

Nerds can be totally hot. I tend to like nerds, because I tend to like virgins  I also tend to like discussing multinumerous theoretically unproven possibilities. Can't beat a nerd for that.
[Raises hand when "Nerd?" is called out]
There are so many diamonds in the rough out there...

Seconded!

I adore Dr. Sheldon Cooper, does that count? :D But actually, my adoration this season is slipping to Dr. Leonard Hofstadter.

I wouldn't call it a fetish really. I have a thing for highly intelligent men that may seem nerd-like or geek-like in their professions, not it alls because well, they are. They have deep wells of knowledge in a variety of areas.

They have passion and love for something and that's always a good thing... It's getting them to look up and notice things that's tricky.;)

I agree with you all. SMART is what does it for me.

It doesn't have to be book smart either. Met a VERY sexy food nerd about a month ago - he is a chef.

Hot Hot Hot

OMG brains are soooo sexy!
Lab coats even better ;) nothing says lovin' like broken beakers littering the floor. Give me the slightly pudgy, Lab coat wearing, wild haired guy, with glasses any day of the week.

More cushion for the pushin', and something to hold on to IMHO, and with out his glasses he can't see my imperfections :p

A sense of humor is wonderful to me, and guys like that have the greatest ones.

Oh yes! Mad scientists are HOT. I was thinking about making a mad scientist thread, because AAHH LABCOATS.

I wish someone would design a line of steampunk toys. =(

Anyway, yeah, nerds are great. I would never go for someone stupid. Or non-geeky.
