Moving On

I have decided it is time for me to step down as moderator here. I have loved the years I have held the position and the friends I have made in the process, but as F has pointed out to me often over the last couple of years, there comes a time when it is not so fun or easy and letting go of the responsibility is more attractive. Took awhile, but I admit I would love to come here when I feel like it, have fun, and not feel I have to check in everyday throughout the day, do whatever has to be done, and then see if I have time and energy to actually participate in discussions and have fun.

Thanks to everyone who makes this place what it is, and offer their thoughts, friendship and advice to those who come here looking for something. I am proud to have been part of that and am delighted to know I can now continue doing so from a less demanding position. I also wish to thank my fellow moderators Etoile and Kajira Callista for helping out when I was going through a less than fun time and did not have as much time and energy to be here as much as before. I am sure they will keep everything running smoothly and you will all remember to be nice to them, even when they have to do things you might not like such as removing your lovely pics when they overstep Lit guidelines...it Thanks also to Marquis for the time he was a co-moderator with me...it was memorable and fun. So this is not a goodbye, just a closing of one door to open another.

Thank you, Cat, for all you've done here. You and I have disagreed at times - but then, I disagree with just about any- and everyone at times - but even then, it was with (on your part, at least!) class and dignity.

I won't say you'll be missed, because I fully expect that you'll be able to spend a little more time just contributing your thoughts and ideas, rather than spending it on all that fun mod stuff

You've been an excellent moderator, as far as I'm concerned, always trying to do what you felt was best for the forum and its denizens, regardless of personal attacks, bitching, moaning and whining by some, or whatever the circumstances. You've set the bar high for those who follow you, but I'm sure they too will do (have done, are doing) the best they can to emulate your caring and dedication.

Thanks, as we both know, we can't agree with all the people all the time, nor have the whole world love us every minute of the day, and from that we can learn and grow I think. Not sure I was always classy, but I hate drama and confrontation so try to handle things as an adult and not throw a tantrum or pity party everytime things don't go in a way which puts me on a pedestal and the centre of attention with a lot of yes people at my feet...I don't want or need that.

LOL, in fact, I have a long history of hating being on a pedestal, and as F learned early on, I hate being the center of attention in an extreme kind of way....he catered to that when I first moved here by not allowing a huge welcome party some had been planning, and introducing me to everyone slowly with sizeable breaks in between. He does so many things to show me I made a good choice in falling in love with him albeit online and sight unseen.

You yourself have offered a lot of wisdom and at times reality checks to this forum which I, and others I am sure, have appreciated and treasured. There have been so many who have over the years made a huge contribution to the forum and members, unfortunately some of them no longer visit us here but I never give up on hoping they will pop in at some time. I will be around from time to time, but admit it is nice to know I can do it without feeling I will have to do work, skim threads and hopefully not miss anything, then see if I have time for fun.

And best of all, it is now official as Laurel sent me a lovely note today and at my request yesterday, has removed me from the mod role.

LOL, I don't think it got much air play out of the regional mid-west. This particular mix was uploaded by one of the original band members, Ron West. It just takes me back, I guess. It's not really about the song, but, well...old memories of where I was, back before my hair started moving on.

Speaking of moving on, I hope you stick around for some of the spirited conversations that sometimes happen here. And you won't have to be the heavy...just be one another one of the hell raisers. I also look forward to some more pictures with the macro lens.

Thanks DVS....lol, I need to get the macro out again as I promised a friend I would do some more experimenting and share tips to help him adjust to using the same lens. What I really want to do is find a couple of people who want to volunteer for some erotic modeling, especially of the BDSM variety. And yes, I will still be around.
