Cover art.

Hi I am getting ready to e-publish my first book and am looking for some help with cover art. I posted a thread in the Authors hangout last week and got a couple of names. One person is booked solid for months and the second started and did some work then abandoned the project. I don't have the patience to surf the stock art galleries and honestly for this first book I want it to be very specific and i do have an image to work off of. I don't want to try the regular AH again because my thread turned into an argument that i was crazy to want to pay for cover art. So was wondering if someone here could either help or know someone who can. Thank you.

A gross exaggeration. The issue was paying $100 to an art student for the cover art (not even a finished cover) for your first self-published e-book. You won't get anywhere without making realistic assessments and by exaggerating.

How am I exaggerating? I stated a simple fact. It turned into an arguement did it not? it did. I did not name names or say that anyone was an asshole or anything stupid. Just said it became an argument. Now your going to follow me here to start again? Okay fine brief synopsis I am willing to ppay more than you feel is feasible. Your argument is based on a dollar and sense business decision don;t overpay. If it were strictly business for me you would be correct and I wouldn't need you to tell me. I've run businesses in the past. This is a passion and a hobby, it is my first book I am willing to pay more to get exactly what I want which may not be able to be done from a stock phote site. It's not about the money this time around. Hencwe I never technically said you wer wrong we are just looking at this from different angles. Try to understand this isn't my livelyhood (nor will it be) it's for fun and I am willing to simply get what I want and be happy.

Smashwords has a list of cover artists who will produce a cover for $25-35.00, if you are interested...
