In our prison system they get better health car than we do, they don't pay the exhorbitant fees we get charged & even those on health benifits don't get that they have to find the $$$$ for treatments, specialists & scans etc.

I did rejoice hearing that a prisoner appealed his sentence & the hearing judge increased his sentence, I though that was fantastic because of the horrific crime he was serving.

The prison system is a joke, the inmates get better treatment than they deserve! They are treated better than some of the "good" but poor people in the general community!

If I end up alone and poor in my old age, I'm going to rob a bank. If I get caught then I spend a few years doing "easy" time. If I dont hurt anyone I'll go to a prison farm, :D And if I dont get caught..... whoo hoo!! LOL

This is laso a worry for BANDIT:heart: & I as our money is rapidly vanishing with every year & our ability to save money shrinks so this is why I'm thinking of the same retirement plan you have & how come robbing a bank is any different to what the banks are doing to us almost every day.:rolleyes:

I laughed at a prisoner in the US who got eye tests, new glasses both frames & lenses (is that a word?), an operation to remove some moles all at tax payers cost but the clincher was he was on death row & a week away from getting the needle.

I'm on a health care benifit, need glasses & BANDIT:heart: is officially my carer because of my health & saves the government more than $20,000 a year (yes that figure is right), she also needs glasses but because we have more than $1000 in our 2 bank accounts we are not eligible for assistance witrh the cost of frames & lenses yet try to find frames & lenses deals per person for under $1000 & I need readers as well as every day glasses unlike prisoners who get the lot for free, this is why we are both struggling with out of date lenses for over 2 years since our last due date to be tested, we just don't have the funds with the huge rise in costs like electricity, petrol, food etc yet we are so much better off to so many others.

this is how i do it....
go to regular optometrist and get tested - medicare covers this cost.
then demand a copy of your test results before you leave.
now, go online to 'specsavers', and you can order your new frames and lenses for about 1/4 of the price!
(if you're worried about fitting the frames, most big cities have an outlet store for specsavers and you can go in and get fitted.)

I think it might be different going to a shop as we found little differece in costs, from memory only about $20 difference in each of the 4 pairs as BANDIT is mant to have same as me regular glasses plus readers as bi focals cost even more.

Apart from that how is life on the island?

(will have to answer later as my loverly caring BANDIT:heart: is waiting to canulate & get me on dialysis).

the specsavers store is about $5 more than doing it online.
my glasses - guess frames and full nikon lenses with protective coating - cost $135.
i have readers too.... again, a guess frame and lenses.... those were $135 also.
the nearest cost to that was OPSM and they were going to charge $410 per set

i'm doing good :)

i've only seen 2 snakes all season.
my tomato plants are finally fruiting (actually, they are 'berries! who knew?!)

now i'm going to go cook an awesome meal for the kidleys dinner

how are you both? :rose:

years ago when I was flat busted my then wife needed glasses and it was the frames that cost the money we haunted op shops and garage sales until she found a pair she liked for $2 then they put the lenses in
desperate times

That only works if the fram number is still valid as I found an old set of frames I like (aviator) but got told the lens company can't do lenses for them because they are old & frame number isn't in the system anymore, seems as though the lens companies only get the script & frame numbers now & a machine does the rest.

BANDIT commented last night she needs to get tested for new lenses so we plan to see if we can today & then Wednesday it's my turn for eye test seeing we need to drive to the place to get tested & can't drive after the drops so one at a time then we will look at specsavers online.

So glad things are going well for all of you apart from you girlchild, hope she discovers that Mum isn't the bad person she thought she was & returns with a better attitude to family.

Off to see my renal specialist today to see how things are going, over the last year or so things have never been better but I still stress out big time everytime I see him, I will be asking for him to suply my with my last few blood tests & a letter stating my health, getting ready for my revenge on my sacking for Health concerns.:mad:

Good for you Gil!!! Go Get the Bastards!!!

I hope to find a firm like the accident ones who only get money from a win & with the rest I'll donate to the charity of the young guy who died at the track a while back Care4kids, I want nothing but to cost them bigtime & this will please me no end.

because i have the littlest kidlet here, and because he's going thro a rough time with bastardex (and his entire side of the family!) abandoning him.... i have reluctantly made the decision that the extremely disruptive girlchild will NOT be allowed back into my home :(
kidly does not need her in his face telling him how awful big brother and i am - and that is only part of what she'll do.
counsellors, psych, girlchild's support worker ALL agree she should not be allowed to influence the kidlet at this time.
far from settleing down, she's out there having too much fun to think about the long-term ramifications.

Sad to hear but your right about disruptive older sis but I do hope she does wake up & regret her decisions before it's to late for her, I would aslo think even though all this is happening your love for her won't waver as my never did with my own daughter who still is making stupid decisions in her life I can not understand, very hurtful to me but my love never fades for her.

i absolutely love my daughter
i may not like, or agree with, what she's doing.... but i will never waver in my love.
we do get together every few weeks (that's all the time she has for me) and we generally get on ok - but if i say or do something she doesn't like, then i once again become the 'bitch, cunt, whore mother' :(
the abuse is incredibly hurtful.

I never got the abuse but got the silent, can't be found or totally ignored. I once found her working in a supermarket near a friends place & moved towards her only to be snubbed before she turned & walked into the back room, that hurt a lot then a few months later she turns up on my door step all bright & bubbly like nothing had happened.

Well all went well with my renal specialist although my BP was higher than normal, he ask if any reason for this so told him what had happened with me to cause it so told him about the speedway sacking me & he was outraged that they did this with out calling for a doctors report, medical etc & gave me a letter stating that my health over the last year has been the best it has for many years, the fight continues.

Gee it's nice being among friends who don't continually point out my silly spelling or that I jumble words a lot like I've just noticed in a couple of my posts like the one above or the example above which took e sometime to work out as also.:eek:

I struggled all through school with teacher after teacher giving me low scores in all subjects because of poor grammer & spelling plus even I was believing I was stupid for not being able to get simple grammer not knowing back than that I was Dyslexic.
School report after school report had teacher comments like "Need to try harder"! yet I was spending more time than anyone else in my classes trying to understand home work, maths for example where one teacher worked out that my method was correct yet I jumbled the numbers as I went & every other subject had the problem of setting reading for the next days classes but reading was a struggle as I'd read a sentence a dozen times with little or no understanding of what I'd just read & most times it was an entire chapter that needed reading but still time after time I got report cards with "Can do better" "Not trying hard enough" or a "lazy student".
My practical mind I'm told is fantastic & I know I'm not stupid but it wasn't till BANDIT:heart: was looking though the sunday paper where there was an article on how to post a Dyslexic & as she read whe was ticking off most of the points in the article & being a qualified teachers aide this confirmed her suspicions.
Un like the text speak, horrid speeling youth of today I have become a lot better with my continued struggle to deal with the problem I have all with the Wonderful BANDIT's:heart: love & help.
I am an extreemly lucky person seeing I have many health issues which she jumped in to help me with but her love & care in all things & this is why she is my Wonder Woman.

I don't post a lot anymore, but I do lurk :D

It is so nice to see so much love between you and Bandit, Gil. Especially with all the challenges that life throws at you. I hope your love remains strong forever. It's such an inspiration for the rest of us!

Where the heck have you been?

Three letters - MBA. All my free time (and weekend nanna nap time) has vanished since I started studying ~2 years ago.
Plus I've had a couple of life changing events in the last year, so I've been hanging out on a different forum.

It's good to see a lot of familiar faces are still here. I hope everyone is well and having a good weekend.

If I was rich...I'd become Bat..woman.

Baseball Bat-woman. Wait, on here that would be taken a totally different way.

Hmmm...ah well.

Thankyou Pert, It would be fantastic if the challenges eased up on us as we are again going through more at the moment but our love is stronger than ever, it seems that the longer we are together the stronger we grow as a couple but like I said we would love to just sail along for a while with out problems cropping up on us.

I hope that you can start to drop by a bit more often & let us know how things are with you.
