Heard that all of my friends and ex work mates are alive.....unfortunately I also know that some of them are seriously injured such is the nature of the patchy info coming out of Christchurch...I don't know which ones are in trouble.....I fear for Christchurch and New Zealand the worse news is yet to come...the place really is two degrees of separation .....

I wanted to post something about our Lit members from New Zealand to let them know they're in our hearts and prayers. I've gotten to know several gals and one guy from there on Literotica--I've greatly enjoyed posting with many from there. I have a friend with a young family in Christchurch that I've not heard from yet. If you pray, please add my friends--I'm so worried about them!! In case, anyone in or around Christchurch can get to the Lit boards--know that all of you are in our hearts and prayers. I know that I'm thinking of you each and every day and I so look forward to hearing from you as soon as you can.

Thank you. I wasn't prepared for that reaction--no--I was shocked. Oh well, at least someone understands that I'm concerned about everyone effected by such a terrible event not just my friends. I live on the New Madrid fault in the U.S. that is due a quake just like this one. We live with the idea that it could happen to us at any day--anytime. Sigh . . .

Sadly, I don't know my Lit friends real name but we've talked a lot and our families have a lot in common. I got a PM from both of the gals I've gotten to know here earlier today--ahhhhhh they're fine!!! Cut up and terrified but fine. Now that only leaves my one friend I need to hear from--keeping my fingers crossed. Funny isn't it how we get to know others so well on a site like this--not what I expected! LOL I guess I'll just have to wait and see if he comes online.

I heard from my family member today. Their house is structurally damaged but the main thing is that they are safe and well.

To ticklish709 and others who haven't heard news yet I send you my sympathy.

Thanks again to the many countries who have sent search and rescue, police, Drs, nurses, support workers, money, equipment and supplies.
Our country is fairly small and we always try to help other countries when it is needed. To see the support when we need it has been a wonderful thing.

For those who are wondering - it may seem a small thing compared to other countries disasters but Christchurch is the second biggest city in our fairly small country.
It is the largest city in the South Island and so to us the earthquake and the loss of life and damage is not something we are used to.

The last big earthquake was the 1931 Napier one when approx 256 died.

We know it is a small blip compared to the terrible disasters that have befallen other countries.

I think unfortunately our recent disaster experience is keeping the teams in tip top condition. Are we sending rescue dogs? I think NZ is one of the few places we can send em (no rabies?).

You DID thrash us in the world cup cricket match though the "oldies" of both countries had a charity event yesterday which we managed to win comfortably - with some help from some younger than expected team members and repeated CPR for the others! (while the Aus team was smoking cigs and sending texts ).

Yep ... some dogs managed to sneak through customs weqaring Shane Warne masks and I saw the Japanese arrived with theirs too with no quarantine delays under the "special powers" enabling law in place. It's more likely the poor animals get held in confinement for months on their return home after being exposed to the NZ fleas!
