Just got this public comment on my latest story that posted today.

WRONG AREA

if you are going to write a story longer than three pages put it in the novels area or break it up into shorter chapters

DBRS

Now I haven't been writing long here (last May) but pretty sure there is no set length on a story. This was 5 lit pages I tend to build up a story by developing the characters and setting up the sex. I write incest and do not do grope and go. MY personal "stamp" is that I try to justify the incest a bit. A certain event occurs (Like in the story this stroker remarked about) or maybe they have some emotional issues (My long running SWB series) but I try to give more than "sis looked hot so I banged her and then the family jumped in"

So to this person if they were not anon. I would respond that they should just put on the internet and get some hand cream. In the "Improving Literotica" thread someone suggested a "Plot" and "stroke" category. It could never be done but it was the first thing I thought of. Funny thing is this idiot (I recognize the initials) has commented on my SWB series and the chapter he remarked on was 5 pages. Must not have been that horny that day.
Anyone else get this crap?

Maybe it takes longer than three pages for him to get off. :D

No, I don't get it. But if I did, I'd just zap the comment and not give it any more thought.

You know this sounds dumb but when I started I made some rules fro myself and one was to never zap a comment. If I was going to, the one I would do it to would be the one that a guy left on two of my chapters saying that "It's not a blow job for Christs sake" and went on to say there is no blowing only sucking. 100,000+ stories call it a blow job and he picked me. I still left them up though and probably will this one.

Watch the feedback portal. This is just another seriel commenter with specific hate-ons. I've yet to see a positive comment from this one. Probably got overshadowed in LW and branched out in hopes of getting noticed.

This was the other comment he left me. first off the story was 4 pages. Secondly the remark itself talks about the parents of the sister in my incest story being dumb because she is slipping into alcoholism and according to this goof the yare not helping her. During this chapter they mention her going to kodak for counseling and the entire plot of the chapter was that the mother takes her away fro the weekend to spend time talking to her about all the shit she's been doing. So yeah just a dumbass

dumb parents

instead of getting her the help she needs but won't admit to they treat her like shit no wonder she keeps screwing up any body would in a family like that

Must have been jerking instead of reading.

Wow, that guy would hate my stuff. I'll have a series of 3-5 page chapters with no sex at all. :) But I digress.

No, there's no set length on a story, and I think a 5-screen-page story is fine. I've posted a few stand alone stories and they've been anywhere from 5-7 pages and are not under novels/novellas.

But he sounds like exactly the type of commenter to ignore.

I tend to write flash stuff right at the low end of the word count for lit; short if I could get away with it. I'm kinda catering to strokers only so I don't hear this stuff but I get plenty of one bombs.

When they start attacking the characters in the story, I realize that trolls gotta eat too.

How do you manage that?

Easy - you just have to write in the Romance category (or Novels & Novellas / non-erotic...:)). It's a common misconception (though perfectly understandable) that every story / chapter posted here at Literotica has to have a sex scene in it.

I got an email yesterday asking if I'd ever considered writing a Loving Wives story.

Er, no. Me?

You know I write in the incest category (although I do have 3 BDSM as well) so I have taken my share of abuse by the assholes who go into a specific category just to rag on it. But let me tell you I would never set my toes in the water of LV. first off I wouldn't have a clue how to write one but mostly they will chew you up and spit you out no matter what you do. I go into the feedback portal once in awhile just to read those comments. Brutal just brutal

I guess b/c I get more into the story -- characters, plot -- than the sex, and I do keep my stuff in the nonhuman and romance categories, where it seems more accepted or expected. And I have seen longer stories in categories like BDSM where people explore the motivations, etc., and don't just go with the whips and chains.

I wouldn't do an LW story either. For one thing, I don't even like to read stories on cheating spouses, let alone write them. Also, although I know I could turn off comments, the vitriol of the feedback in that category would be a source of stress I could do without.
