Hi Guys, hope I'm posting this in the right spot.
I'm new here to this forum, please forgive me if its in the wrong spot.
I've been enjoying it immensely and have met some great people.
There's only one issue that has come up twice. The photo issue...
I really don't feel comfortable yet to post photos or PM them to anyone.
I don't have a body issue, it's a privacy issue.
I love that there are people brave enough and comfortable enough to post pictures and I too hope I get the courage to do this
but in the meantime what do I do?
Does anyone have any advice on this issue or is in the same predicament?
Thanks :)

If you don't want to post photos, then don't.

There's plenty of people here who encourage every woman on the board, especially newbies, to post their boobs. Or more. Some of those people are just teasing; some are dirty old men looking for new wank material.

BUT: how did the issue come up, if this is your first post?

Privacy

Not a problem for me Zoe. I have the same issue as you do. I would love to post. I am a gym rat and am very proud of my physique but I am not going to send photos over the net. I am sure some will have issues but there are plenty of us who don't.

I agree Zoe - not only a privacy issue but a security issue as well.

For me, the biggest risk is that I am in a very conservative field of study and I do NOT want to be recognized. :O

It's always important to keep in mind that once you post information/pictures/etc, they are no longer in your control. It takes a lot of trust to share certain identifiable data, and I include pictures in that.

If you get to know someone well and want to, go for it! But don't let pressure dictate what you do or don't do. Some people on here are independently employed and/or very open, and that's phenomenal! However, there's no rule that fits everyone - just go with your gut. :)

BUT: how did the issue come up, if this is your first post?

I'm guessing this is a new (different) name for anonymity's sake. ;)

Hey, thanks for the advice. The issue came up after a PMing with people.

Hi Matt, good to see like minded people on here! Thanks for posting :)

Thank you for your advice. Privacy and security are a major factor and also being recognised to. Also the fact that once posted or emailed they are out of our control. Yes we are all different "one size doesn't always fit all"! Thanks again.

If you want to post pics and find if exciting cfrop out your face and any recognizable feature like a tatoo.

My wife is a Bank exec and had a picture thread for a while, I just made sure the pics were cropped well to exclude anything that might be recgonizable.

It was fun.

Just another note:

You're new, you have a female username and it looks like you're showing your online status. Therefore, you're probably going to get a ton of PM's from random guys who are hoping to get wanking material from you. Many of them have almost no post history here (or primarily post in AmPics or Personals), and just go through the online list on the main forum page looking for anything that sounds female, then they send a standard message requesting cyber, pics, erotic exchanges, etc.

If you want to cut down on those messages, change your status to Invisible in your User CP. You'll still be a target, but you'll be a smaller one. :)

This is basically a discussion board. Some go further than that and that's O.K. It is not necessary or expected. You can make your visits here whatever you want to make of them.

Welcome to Lit.

Share pics, if you're comfortable. Or not. You don't owe the leg-humping, one-post-wonder losers on this site anything.

Be sure to post your asshat PMs here. :D

I could be wrong, but I think if you put a person on your ignore list, they cannot send you PMs.

Alternatively, you can put something in your sig line about how you don't swap pics, so don't even ask. Something similar to the one in mine regarding dirty PM's. It doesn't totally eliminate the requests from the wankers, but it does decrease them significantly.

Welcome to Lit and enjoy your stay. :)

I would say never post your face and in your profile make sure there is nothing in there that can be used to identify you, even by someone you know. The last thing you want is someone you know finding dirty pics of you on the net.

If someone is worth investing your time in, they won't demand you do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Trust should be developed over time. It might come quickly sometimes, but the automatic, upfront demand for photos should be a red flag that the requester won't give trust time to develop. Ignore them.

Given the PMs I've been getting lately (quite possibly by the same person), maybe we should start our own Asshat thread in the HT Cafe.

The latest one told me I'm rude, so I should put him on ignore and not butt into any of his posts. LMAO

Nobody picks on my SweetE and gets away with it! Guido and the boys will be around soon to have a word with the culprit!

Oooh...you're sending me an Italian Stallion?

Really, I just thought it was beyond hilarious for him to ask to be iggy'd when he could simply iggy me and not have to deal with my "rudeness" (A.K.A. honest opinions) at all. Like I don't PM the Nonsense Spammer and ask him to iggy me, I just iggy him so I don't have to see his threads all over the first page when he pops in.

Clearly this guy isn't the brightest bulb in the box, eh?

Don't feel pressured by anybody. If you don't want to post your pics, don't.

If you DO want to post your pics, but don't want because of privacy, just make sure that you hide everything that might reveal your identity on the picture. Find an empty white wall in your house, take a photo in front of it, cut out your face from the picture, put your hair in a bun (if it's long), remove any jewelry or anything that you might be recogonized by, maybe even remove and birth marks in Photoshop if you're afraid.

Only do this if you're sure to publish your pics, and the privacy is the only issue. If you don't really want to do it, then don't. Don't let anyone pressure you into that.

sorry, i completely failed to engage the OP.

zoe: especially on a site like lit, you should never volunteer any information that actually connects to your actual name/identity. ever. i really wonder what the folks who post pics in ampics are thinking. it's just a matter of time before those get tagged on their FB walls, in my view.

Never be pressured into either posting pics on lit or sending them to people, only do it when you feel the time is right for you otherwise you will regret it.

Or get smart with them, i had one guy ask me for a photo of my pussy so using a different email addy i sent him a photo of my cat, i never heard back from him.

Hi guys, thank you all for your post and your advice. I’ve received so many PM’s about this as well. I’m glad that Im not the only one out there with the photo / privacy issue. Im working on my signature, trying to think of something not too rude or obnoxious!
I really appreciate all your posts.
Zoe
