A place to share milestones, ask for advice, tell those stories that we know only other parents find funny/cute...anything you like...

As usual, I only ask that negativity is checked at the door and while people might ask for advice in this thread, no one here has the right to judge the parenting methods of others.
And please don't quote any photos people add of their children as they may only want them online for a short period of time. Thank you!

Twins run in both mine and Mr Brit's family so at first we were excited that we might end up with two little people...so glad now it was just the one...one at a time is good...one leaves you with a hand free, some of the time

I don't have a child of my own. My daughter was stillborn at 7.5 months. But I have a 14 year old niece who spends a lot of time at my house. Her mother once told me something that gave me a laugh. She said, "Having children is like getting pecked to death by a duck, slowly over 20 years or so."

I also have no children of my own, but I helped raise my niece, my little brother, and my younger cousin. They have their moments when they're unholy terrors, but they have their adorable moments too. Like when my niece said she had brain freeze yesterday when eating ice cream.

Awww, I can't wait until Baby Brit is big enough for those...then again, I'm not wishing away this time...

We spent ages trying to encourage her to crawl and now that she can, brilliantly I might add, it's a delightful nightmare! Chasing after her, rescuing things from heading into her mouth to be gummed to death...I love it in a way...don't need a gym with all this running around

Are they the old ones, or the new ones? I don't think I ever had one of those myself. I think the only wagon I had was a John Deere branded one. Not sure about any of the other kids I dealt with growing up.

My wife and I were having a morning "snuggle" when my 7 year old decided she wanted to be the cream filling in our love cookie. I've gotten very good at laying of my stomach during these interruptions.

We've got three children. 16, 12, and 7. The two older ones are ours, the youngest is ours since his birth, by default via long term foster care. He's got a lot of problems with learning disabilities, and sometimes I wonder if our own two kids have lost out on time with their Mum and Dad, as he takes a lot of our time and attention. But my eldest sons bed is the bed he crawls into when he's had a bad dream or is afraid if the wind is too loud, for his cuddles and comfort, and my daughter is the one he goes to to torture, and yet she'll sit with him for hours going over his words for school and will bath him and wash his hair, cause '' she don't get the water in my eyes''.

All three sound wonderful little (and not so little!) people and the older two just go to show what amazing qualities they can possess...things no doubt learned from their Mum

My advice would be to perhaps not post pictures of your children online it can be very dangerous.

I have a website for my Preschool and the photo album is securely locked and password protected. In the public area any pictures I post of my facility never clearly show a child or his face.

Not at all, as a teacher (and the creator of our own website and having been involved in various international children's programs) I know the dangers too sadly

And that's why I've asked people not to quote the photos people do choose to post, that way they can remove them when they want to.
