Anyone know about publishing on Nook ereader? Can you publish just online stuff, or do you have to have physical copies of your book?

By "physical copies" do you mean something like a SD-card?

From the in-store advertisements and comments here, the Nook has Wi-Fi connectivity so the primary source for reading material seems to be downloads.

I was reading something in the FAQ and it referred to physical copies. That's how come the question.

The Nook reads standard ePub files, so you can sell via Smashwords which automatically makes your work available on a range of standard formats.

Costs nothing to sell, and the site is fairly good, although not as slick as the Kindle store.

You don't need paper copies. Just write it and upload it at the nook site. It is so easy. There are a few formatting requirements that you set up under Styles in Word to help it look correct. That takes about 90 seconds once you know how to do it. You can get these under the introductory documentation on Smashwords.

The most helpful information I can share is to post on B&N, SW, and Amazon. All three are simple and nearly identical when it comes to uploading. My Amazon sales are strong, SW less so, and B&N sales are a pittance.

I would advise you to create sexy cover art. This too is easily done once you get the photographs. That's the hardest part. By day I'm a professional photographer and am able to do my own, but you have to have permission to use another photographer's work. The common 'royalty free' houses don't allow their images to be used in pornographic applications. My covers and books would be considered pornographic - I've checked into it.

Feel free to PM me if you want more detailed instructions.
