What ever happened to DollParts

who is dollparts?

This.

And I never have seen anyone named DollParts posting at Lint. However, I allow for the possibility that was some kind of funnin' and I am too n00b to get it. I sense drama and deep level weirdness in this story already.

Dolly.

"Who is she?" is not the question but "What did she do?"

Ok what'd she do?

More a phenomenon than a who.
A consummate medical phenomenon, that is.

Too many meds or not enough?

She fucked off to one of those fascist boards where they are willing to protect her from reality and the truth.

who is dollparts?

She's a very sweet mentally ill person who made the mistake of posting here years ago and was made the object of ridicule by several members of the GB. She has several medical issues that she asks advice on and has difficulty with the advice offered.

Thread hijack for a quick boobhug and slow molest of HB. Hiya, darlin'

Carry on people. I'm out.

Ok what'd she do?

Made the mistake of displaying the symptoms of her--admittedly rather severe and troubling--mental illness here on the GB. She then seemed to revel in the attention she got, whether negative or positive. Most people gave up on her quickly and just accepted her for what she posted here, though it was extremely frustrating to try to help her. She was very good at arguing with advice and posting the worst possible decisions. There was also a fairly sizeable crowd who seemed to enjoy picking on her. If you search her threads, you'll very quickly get an idea. She posts on Lint as "Dolly," as atmas pointed out, and she seems more comfortable there, as far as I can tell.

On there (lint) she recently became a phenomenon in another respect: for creating meta-threads. In a thread she started seeking hypothetical advice for hypothetical medical questions the thread quickly became a discussion about such things as the inability of the ignore function to work on thread titles, the ability of some versions of VB Bulletin to allow entire threads (and their titles) to be ignored, and the metaphysical questions concerning whether mere knowledge of someone asking a question is tantamount to accepting that the question is legitimate.
Dollparts (Dolly) has this massive ability to pull well-meaning concern from astoundingly well meaning posters, and then to somehow either not hear it or not follow it, and after a suitable time, to ask the same question again.

Who would have thunk it? Though here on Lit she did occasionally start a thread that became interesting in one way or another.

Sounds like a wonderful place. A happy place. We should all go.
