Any interesting women out there?
Hey folks,
I've been a member here for a number of years--something I forgot until recently when I actually started posting! This seems like a pretty easygoing community, so I figured I'd reach out and introduce myself. I'm also looking to meet new people, which, obviously, is the point of this thread.
I guess that the way to go would be to say a little bit about myself and then a few words about who I'm looking to meet. Feel free to click on my profile for a small picture of me, and I'll be happy to exchange more pictures with anyone who wants to!
So, about me: I'm a 32 year old guy (let's say a young 32!) and I'm originally from New England. I currently live in Rhode Island where I'm a professor, but I spent 8 years in the south. I'm in the humanities, so you might say I read and write for a living. (No, I don't want to edit your erotic stories.
) I do research on French studies, and I've spent a lot of time living and working in Paris and elsewhere in France. I'm a pretty international guy, and I've done a lot of traveling and have really itchy feet to do some more in the near future! I'm very much into sports, and I play tennis at a pretty high level, I'm an avid runner and a huge soccer fan. Despite the jetsetting image I've just laid out, I'm actually really dorky and I've been known to spend a lot of time lost in my own head. How I haven't managed to wander into traffic yet I'll never know...
Who I'm looking for: Well, I'd ideally like to get to know girls who are smart, educated and roughly around my age--let's say somewhere in their 20s, since I care more about maturity than age. A witty sense of humor is definitely a plus! I'd like to meet someone who's attractive and likes to keep in shape, as well. Obviously looks aren't everything, but I also think it's strange when people pretend that physical attraction doesn't exist! Someone who's into traveling would be great, as would someone who has something to say about literature or films without being too pretentious about their opinions. Lastly, I should say that I'd like to meet people who are into nerdy, absent-minded professor-type guys (who pretend they're cooler than they actually are!)...Hey, at least I know that about myself, right?
A quick note on who I'm not looking for: people who don't have a good head on their shoulders, people who hide behind affected internet personas (I think that's really creepy), and people who have serious problems trusting guys.
Anyway, if you've gotten this far maybe you're interested in knowing more! Feel free to shoot me a PM and hopefully we can talk. I'm really curious to see who's out there...
