A Question About Story Title.

I want to title a story "NEEDFUL THINGS" I know stories can be written about celebrates but is it O.K. to use it as a title and as the name of the shop in the story? Other then the title and the name of the shop hopefully the story will be very different from the movie.

Titles can't be copyrighted and they are duplicated all of the time.

I think the question is, are you ok with people saying, "hey, isn't that the name of that Stephen King book (movie)? And isn't that the name of the shop in that book (movie)?"

If the story is unrelated, you might have some confused readers to deal with.

[I should add that NT the only SK book I ever read. I was young and it gave me nightmares for months! If I saw that title, it would make me think of a creepy old dude selling a Sandy Koufax card, but curiosity might make me click it open anyway.]

This was a Stephen King book and movie so it's the first thing people would think of. By that same token it may get more people to look at it though.

Have you searched the stories to find how many other Lit authors have used that title?

You will find a lot of duplication with some titles.
