Well hey, it's streaming properly.

So many keep fucking up the encoding on those things in ways it shouldn't even be possible. So you got that going for you.

Great Job, Ami

I wish that you could fix that microphone problem. Sounds like you're right on top of the thing. Nice to listen to, other than that, you have a nice radio voice and it's a nice song in the background. I might do that free download of Susan by the way. Hmm.

It amuses me that you have trouble quotes but got that done right. Nice...

I really like HM, as well.

Be my guest, WS, thas, wot the coupons are for. Yup, I have two mike's, the one I finally used came witht he Dragon Speak voice recognition softweare, the headphones and mic are one unit

There is always ambient noise, which is why a studio would be nice; I will probably try another one before long and reduce both the audio level of the music and the mic

Hope you enjoy the story...

hi

nice work, amicus. a pleasant listen.

i think you need one of those screens in front of the mike, in my lay opinion. too much 'explosive' breath sound.

i hope you are well and recovering your health.

best,

Nice. As Pure has pointed out, a foam cover on the mic should keep it from popping so much. Other than that a nice radio voice. :)

You have a very pleasant voice, amicus. Nice work. I know nothing about any of that and I'd be afraid to even try. My voice isn't 'broadcast' worthy. I even hate talking on people's answering machines or voicemail.

While I'm not the kind to do something like that I do applaud those who do. In this case the first attempt was very good. Keep it up Ami.

Thanks...everyone....and to Mark Coker, the founder and owner of Smashwords, from his free download on marketing and promoting books. I sent him the link and was much surprised when he responded less than an hour later.

This is an easy read and offers many ideas, social networks and such, and it was the suggestion of a YouTube video that gave me the idea to give it a try.

Thank you also for the critiques, adjusting the music and voice level can only be done once on the system I have, I rerecorded it several times and finally decided to go with what I had.

The voice recognition microphone has fairly good sensitivity, but it is a foam protected little gadget attached to headphones and I should have adjusted in more carefully.

Not sure what promotional advantages YouTube will offer, but I do recommend you give it a try, it is really not that difficult and I would be pleased to offer suggestions if you need help. The program I used came with the Windows Vista OS, Muvee 6, but there is also a Windows Movie Marker in the files and I may try that and would welcome any suggestions for those of you skilled in making videos.

Oh I love your voice, Ami, that was soothing. :D

That's awesome that you're offering coupons to service men and woman too for that second book, and a temporary free offer on the first. I hope you get tons of views and sales.

Best,
Bianca

You've got a face for radio, ami old scout. ;)

I thought that was a noble first effort and you have a pleasant voice.

I'm sure a lot of Armed Service members will appreciate the coupons and enjoy your books. That was quite generous of you. :D

Great Go Ami

I knew that distinctive, beautiful voice the moment I heard it lil' bro. Some years ago I heard it in Portland

It was eerie, putting the voice with the man after all these years.

Few people are born with such melifluous tones. One of the most memorable and among the very finest voices.

Egads, Loring, we oughta get a room, I am so impressed that you were a writer for NCIS, and you are the only person I have ever heard from that heard me on radio in Portland...such a deal!

The 'voice' is, and is not natural, it had to be trained. The Navy did that in Radio School, with enunciation and precise pronunciation, which prepared me for my dream of broadcast radio...and that took time and practice also. University speech classes were a part of it too, as there is a difference in talking into a microphone and speaking before a live audience...

Thank you so very much for your kind comments, I wish you would share more about your writing chores on one of my favorite television shows....and...sighs...I must Acquiesce to you about NCIS being, as you said, "Police Procedures", or something like that, for indeed you are correct. I think it is the unique character family that entrances me moreso than the plots, which I insisted upon before.

Best of everything to you....so strange....the things we have done and accomplished...always remain in the past and offer little sustenance as 'time goes by'....:rose:

Dunno quite what my expectations were, posting on YouTube, whether to be pleased or disappointed with the 58 views thus far...pleased, I think..

Curious little gadgets on my YouTube page, a graph that shows were the video was downloaded...all in the US and Alaska, none in Europe or Australia, and I have many acquaintances all over Europe and 'down-under', whassup guys? Give the video a look so I can claim 'international' viewership, that would ut a lil smile on me mug!

Thanks to those who did look....another one is in the works....this could get to be a habit!

Not sure it detects all views then, because I did watch it, from o'er here. Which for the record is Denmark, for the moment.

Thak you, Liar, in Denmark; the graphic displays the entire world, I just assumed it would indicate each and all, perhaps there is a delay or something, dunno.

Books sales and free page views have spiked just a little, for those who may be considering promoting your books this way; ain't technology great, so many ways to gather information, amazes me sometimes....

be well...

Smiles...PM me with with at least four of the ladies displayed and I will send you a copy of 'Varieties of Love' in any one of five ebook formats you choose!

Such a deal, eh? I'm such a good guy.

The voice over/music mix, is still not quite right, but better than before, I will keep trying for perfection...you know I will.

I would ask again that our European and 'down under' Litsters take a view, to round out my attempt at global distributiion...comments are welcome, here and on YOutube.

the proceeds from my royalties mainly go to a grandaughter who wants into an expensive drama school, and another who wants into an art school, and maybe, just maybe, I can help them with their dreams...

There are some really good stories in 'Varieties of Love' for about the price of a pack of smokes... http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/35823

Got a second one up now: http://www.youtube.com/user/Amicuscole ...a little better, maybe, learning curve is, ah, whatever, thinking of the third one...all criticisms are welcome....I learn as I go....:) ami

Do you have a way to adjust the volume? Turn down the music and turn up your voice. After all, you are advertising the book and you want people to hear what you are selling, but the whole thing was well thought out. Could have used a few more pictures, IMO.

What struck me, Amicus, is this is the first thread you have posted in which no one has vilified you. Well done, Amicus. Talent shows.
