Is the real reason something else?

I am aware of the polices of this sight on underage sex or underage thoughts of sex or adult memories of under age sex. But are the stories censored for content in other ways?

If you watch this board, you may remember me as the guy who posted his story here when it was rejected. I took a lot of flak over that from the guys who live here.

So, now I am back with another story that has no underage sex or memories of such, and I am rejected again. I would like to know why but the letter says it is my use of comma’s and quotations marks. According to the Submission Views page it was never read by anybody. In the past I might have a story pending and it would show several views.

My question is this; are we forbidden from writing about drug use or the culture that accepts it.?

I would be happy to send the story to you for your views on it.

Thanks
Mike

If the rejection was for grammar issues, then that's what you need to be looking for.

There are other types of content that can get your story rejected, but I've seen any number of drug-heavy stories on Lit, both positive and negative. Doubt that's the reason.

You're probably just a victim of the quick review process. The views listed before the story posts are quirky. I seriously doubt that some of the stories that showed as many as 16-18 views before approval were actually looked at that many times. Likewise, I've had stories go live with zero views.

Change the font size/face and concentrate on the commas/quotes mentioned in the rejection. There very well could just be one or two of them that happened to jump out at Laurel when she was scanning it. Naturally, having someone else take a look can help, as can turning on the grammar checker in a word processor. Grammar checkers can be pretty iffy, but they all do seem to at least catch the basics like misplaced punctuation in quotations. It's easy enough for your fingers to slip on one of those, and just as easy to overlook.

It's frustrating -- especially when you see some of the stuff that does make it through -- but pretty much everyone sees the dreaded rejection stamp a time or two. Just have to roll with the punch, identify what caused it and fix it ( or determine that it was in error, which does happen )

thanks

I checked it again and changed some wording that might have confused the issue and re-submitted.
thanks
