So this kind of stuff is good to pump into kid's heads at 150db or from their Ipod?

Just a few examples. The internet is only so big.

Or is it that kids look up to Palin and not rappers?

“I kill a devil right now ... I say kill whitey all nightey long ... I stabbed a fucking Jew with a steeple ... I would kill a cracker for nothing, just for the fuck of it ... Menace Clan kill a cracker; jack ‘em even quicker ... catch that devil slipping; blow his fucking brains out”

“Race War”; Ice-T, Home Invasion, 1993, Priority Records, Thorn EMI; now called The EMI Group, United Kingdom.

“We’re all hot for a mission to exterminate the government and the fascists ... France is a bitch and we’ve been betrayed ... We f— France, we don’t care about the Republic and freedom of speech. We should change the laws so we can see Arabs and Blacks in power in the Elysée Palace. Things have to explode.”

De Rire aux Larmes, Sniper (French rapper), Warner Music, 2001. See Homegrown Gangstas, Weekly Standard, Sept. 23, 2005.
“Kill the white people; we gonna make them hurt; kill the white people; but buy my record first; ha, ha, ha”

“Niggas in the church say: kill whitey all night long ... the white man is the devil ... the CRIPS and Bloods are soldiers I’m recruiting with no dispute; drive-by shooting on this white genetic mutant ... let’s go and kill some rednecks ...

“Kill Whitey”; Menace Clan, Da Hood, 1995, Rap-A-Lot Records, Noo Trybe Records, subsidiaries of what was called Thorn EMI and now is called The EMI Group, United Kingdom.

“Devils fear this brand new shit ... I bleed them next time I see them ... I pray on these devils ... look what it has come to; who you gonna run to when we get to mobbing ... filling his body up with lead, yah; cracker in my way; slitting, slit his throat; watch his body shake; watch his body shake; that’s how we do it in the motherfucking [San Francisco] Bay ... sitting on the dock of the dirty with my AK”;

“Heat — featuring Jet and Spice 1”; Paris, Unleashed, 1998, Unleashed Records, Whirling Records.

“These devils make me sick; I love to fill them full of holes; kill them all in the daytime, broad motherfucking daylight; 12 o’clock, grab the Glock; why wait for night”

“Sweatin Bullets”; Brand Nubian, Everything Is Everything, 1994, Elektra Entertainment, Warner Communications, Time Warner, USA.

I missed the part where Ice-T was governor of something.

I missed the part where millions of kids were jamming to Palin's 2009 Alaskan State of the State address.

But you're right. No point in worrying about teen violence until kids start killing kids.

There could be a discussion here, but Ice-T is now the dude who trades barbs with Richard Belzer. I don't think millions of anything are listening to his old stuff.

When "gangsta rap" was in its prime, plenty of people challenged it and its effects on young kids. You have to take the reaction to what you put out there. Ice-T was pretty controversial in his heyday. And SP has to deal with the reaction to her shit too. I think she'll be ok.

This.

It's iPod, FYI.

I grew up listening to that, although I did also listen extensively to the Chilis. Maybe the two counteracted one another. All I knows is that I gots a hankering for funky funky beats.

That stuff is waaaaay too old for my students. They don't even know Ice-T used to be a rapper.

I knew IceT when he was a nice, slightly awkward, half-Jewish, half-black guy living in the valley. I knew him when he discovered South Central L.A. and repurposed himself into the OG pimp and shit.

No lie.

That’s not ice t anyway. If I remember right race war was totally different with theme and topic and everything. And what the fuck is “Menace Clan” and why would ice t mention them? I’ve never heard of them, I think WD got his sources mixed up here cause that’s not ice t.

you remind me of my uncle lecturing me on the evils of punk.

I heard that forbidding people from discussing things makes said problems cease to exist. In accordance with your idea, I say we ban people from buying music that says things that someone doesnt like.

Also, this is post ante. Since 1993 there have been 18 years for concerned citizens to warn us about the dangerous music which must be stopped.

Heres what corrupted me, it should also be banned Smack My Bitch Up
