Trying to find "Checkout"

Hi. I'm new to the board but I've been reading for a while. I'm trying to find a great story called "Checkout" by ShimmeringPheonix. I was the June 2008 first place award winner, and a super hot story as I remember, but evidently ShimmeringPheonix is no longer a member and the link to the story no longer works either. I know this is a shot in the dark, but does anyone still have access to this story and know how I can read it again? Drop me a note here or on yahoo. I'm jessicauseiwanna there too. Thanks!

I remember that story and it's a shame it's not here any more. it was well written and pretty original, definitely one that would stick in your memory if you had read it. the others by the same author were equally good. too bad. I guess if you really like a story, you should save it.

I was hoping maybe someone had saved it, or knew of a different place it may have been posted. Wonder what happened to that author

Sometimes an author will sell a story and the buyer will require it be removed from free sites such as this one. Generally speaking, if people stop posting stories here, they leave the ones that are already here.

ETA: you might go to the Search function at the top of this page and put in the person's name. Perhaps you can find a post explaining his or her absence. By the way, it looks as if you spelled the name wrong.

Google's a blank. The closest you get is finding this thread, the contest win announcement, or this thread from back in May. Looks to me like the author deleted his/her profile, as so many others have done over the years.

It doesn't appear to have been posted anywhere else -- at least under the same name/title ( even checked the correct spelling of phoenix, plus several other variations of the name, just in case they caught the error when signing up for some other site )

I'd say that you're out of luck.

By the way, it looks as if you spelled the name wrong.

No, that's the way the author spelled it, according to the contest page mentioned.

Googling the author name showed a person using that screen name at deviantart and another fan fiction site. Both sites had contact information. I don't know if it's the same author or not, but you could inquire directly, I suppose.
