This afternoon I decided to pull back the skirting of the Mobile Home and see if I could find out why the ground around the outdoor spigot was always damp.
Well I found the culprit, after pulling out a ton of growth. It wasn't where I expected it either. (Which was in the piping to the spigot.) Oh no, it couldn't be that easy. Nope the leak was in the splitter/T-Fitting for the Hot water.
This fitting is where the Hot Water comes from the Heater and is split to go to the different areas of the trailer.
This fitting has a 1/2 inch line coming in to the top and two 1/4 inch copper lines running from the side and bottom. (The 1/2 inch line is the one coming from the Water Heater.) The fitting is made of the old style grey PVC Piping.
The leak is a hairline crack in the threaded area in the fitting coming in from the side.
Naturaly the local Ace doesn't appen to have this fitting or anything like it. They recomended I go to the Mobile Home Depot and see if they have something.
I get the feeling I'm going to be building me something to replace this.
Oh and here's a picture of the fitting.
