no - haven't gone soft and will post pics to prove it when the time comes to knock rib and loin over the noggin and peel them!

yes, i have rain tanks here. it's not critical though, if the worst comes i can always refill the tank from the dam and add another in-line filter for clean water.

On I'd not to feel like an 18yo & definately not the mentality I'd just like to have less pain most of what I have was as an 18yo, young & silly.
Mid 30s sounds better to me as I had some life experience then.

*sigh* i had the body of a goddess at 18.
by mid-30's i'd had 3 kids and things were starting to go into a new dimension, let alone a new direction!
really, i need my experience of now coupled with my late teen body - then i'd have an absolute ball
(mind you, since HIM has been part of my life, things do seem to be going just swimmingly!)

i'm hoping for rain in the next week.... this is tassie, after all!

On Dialysis during the day New Years Eve & a quite night as usual, BANDIT isn't a night owl & normally goes to bed at 10.30pm.

We do have 2 nights of speedway racing comming up on the 2nd & 3rd which gets to wear me down.

As for Santa forgetting your request it might be because you were not naughty enough.

i've just received another letter from the ex's father (this being because the ex is too 'scared' to deal with me, so he lets his elderly father talk for him).
this letter detailed 'the matter of X's belongings now concluded' - X is my littlest kidley bean, the one they discarded who now lives with me.

this letter is written like it was a car or a piece of furniture they got rid of.... not about a child, son and grandson

mind you, on the day they delivered the kidley's stuff here, they wouldn't go past the letterbox, and the comment made at the time, and within hearing of my son was 'you're welcome to him'.
what kind of mindset does that to a kid????

part of me wants to go mental at them, the other part of me thinks i should just take a big step back and protect my son from any further involvement with his father, step-mother and grandparents.
at least until the kidley is a year or two older and more able to deal with the hurt they've done to him.

i have spent the last 4 years trying to get to see my son more than 5 times a year... fighting the ex every step of the way.
he did everything possible to stop me seeing the kidlet on a regular basis.
the ex even used to take the kids phones off them, and because that was the only way i could speak to them regularly, it made for fractured contact.
(the reason i didn't take it to court was to spare the kidley bean having to testify - he's old enough to be heard by the court. but i honestly thought that would be too traumatic, having to tell a judge which parent he'd prefer to spend what time with...)

and then the ex goes and [literally] throws out the 13 yr old boy.... and get this..... it was because 'he's too disrespectful!'
and the ex did this without telling my son what was happening.... he told the kidley he was just going to spend a couple of weeks with me so everyone could have 'time out'.
the kidlet came here thinking he was going back to his school, friends, etc.
next thing he knew, his dad and grandpa were delivering everything he owned to the letterbox. (thank god i decided to tell the kidley the truth before his stuff turned up, or he would have been totally head-fucked

before now, i never said anything negative to the kids about their dad and step-mom, but now i have decided to just tell them the truth, in as unemotional a way as possible when they have questions.
and i will only allow visitation if it is supervised - am contacting child protection about that - because a dad that can say 'you're welcome to him', in front of a 13 yr old, should NOT be allowed to be alone with him.
who knows what he might hear next time?

yes - i'm still furiously angry.... but i only vent in here, where the kids can't see the anger.

News from my family - my mum rang yesterday and told me my daughter has been in hospital since Tuesday with glandular fever AND strep throat. I've messaged her and she's getting better slowly, is able to swallow oral antibiotics and could be out tomorrow. It's going to take a while to get her back to normal though.

So I'm off out shortly to try and buy a get well card.

I had it when I was at primary school, I missed the whole winter term that year.
I too hope she recovers quicker than I did!

We did manage a quick 5 minute mobile to mobile call as well, at least I know she's still alive cos I think it was her voice...her nose is blocked too which makes her sound like a martian
