The SCOURIES reader – for both fans and serious scholars…

I was wondering how this list was made as I'm not even sure how many times I have been made a favorite author for my own work (not nearly as many as those above, of course). Is there a way to check?

The Web site only recently began registering the "author and story favoritists" where the author can see them (the "Submissions/Recent activity" button on your submissions page). Only the top 200 author favorites (and fewer than that for stories) are listed where all can see. Click on "sneak peek" on the home page and you'll get an abbreviated list of the favorites. At the top left of this page theres a "Switch to old version" button. Click on that and you'll get the current top 250 "favoritists" authors and the 100 "favoritists" stories.

Don’t worry ma’am, if he wasn’t embarrassed by winning a ‘reader’s choice’ contest on an erotic story site with a half page essay that not one reader favorited and only four (of the millions who visited the site) commented on, and with the story rating miraculously jumping upward at the eleventh hour, then it’s not likely that anything could embarrass him.

I think most of us recognise that the fix was in.

Quite frankly I have no problem with you rewarding your pets but can’t you do it outside the contest system? Why not give these yes-men ‘honorary awards’, or ‘lifetime achievement awards’ or ‘man of the year prizes’ and leave the story contests to the judgement of our readers?
