Anyone having trouble with cookies?

I'm having trouble saving the cookies on Lit, or something. Every time I come over, it shows a bunch of threads as unread, even though I have read them. And if I click the go to first new post button, I instead go to some post that I have already read.

As long as I don't close my browser everything's fine, but when I do and then return, I get a bunch of old threads marked as unread again. And no, I don't have the clear cookies on closing option selected on my browser, that's what makes this weird.

I just updated to Firefox 3.6.13 yesterday, so I'm wondering if it's a browser thing or something else.

And here's a gingerbread cookie Christmas tree for Gracie, I know she was lured in by the title!

It happens to me from time to time.

But then, I'm on Firefox and the newest version does just seem to be fucky in general.

It's only list of things to fix.

Great. I *just* d/l'ed the update for 3.6.12, but told it to update later when I close out of Firefox, and NOW I find out there may be cookie issues with it. Where's gracie when something has a problem with cookies?

I have a hint.

*Whispers, "Stop using Firefox, y'all. It's as big a piece of shit as IE is now."*

;)

If you use the bookmarks toolbars as well, watch out.

Mine have been magically disappearing and/or new ones not saving of late.

How are they better?

They're faster and are less bogged down with extraneous crap. Chrome is more user-friendly than Opera, but I kinda like being that asshole who's like, "I like Opera." :p

I'm having a similar problem in that the site seems to "forget" that I'm logged in at various points -- and I have to re-logon many times in a session. I'm using Firefox 3.6.12, but I have it set to accept cookies. I'm not sure if I can trace the start of the problem to the point I upgraded to this Firefox version, but it's been an issue for several weeks now.

(Wonders if she's the only one on the forum who saw 'cookies' and thought "oh dear, someone's having trouble climaxing?")

I used to use Opera and liked it a lot five-ish years ago, but it kind of went downhill at least for a while there and I switced to Firefox. Maybe I'll have to five Opera another chance.

Well, I'll wait for a while and see, if they get things patched up on the Mozilla end. This is the first time I'm having any problems with Firefox in these five years. I like it that it really doesn't have anything extra on the interface unless you want to. I'm a minimalist of sorts. :)

I can never get rid of firefox because a friend of mine wrote a script for FF that lets you organize the way you see your home page in Fetlife that is like, a million times better then how it normally is.

And so, uh, back to the OP. I use firefox and I don't have that problem, so, I dunno.

I'm on FF as well, and though I don't have that problem here, I do have it elsewhere. (And I used Opera for like one day back when FF was still called "Netscape"... and I'm slowly being tempted to try it again).

Oh, you're all loony! There is nothing wrong with Firefox and the sky is not falling. Oh, that white stuff is snow...not sky. It's not necessarily good, but it isn't the same thing.

I'm sure shit happens from time to time, but if there is an issue with the new version, it will be fixed. I like Firefox. IE is an arrogant self absorbed pig. Opera is a little stuffed shirt, and Chrome is just a small shiny boggle.

Cookies? I like my chocolate chip a little well done. There, now I feel better.

LIEZ! The sky is too falling. ^_^

Meh, I've been waiting for like a year now for all my cookies to work right. There is always *some* page somewhere, where autologin or "stay logged in until..." doesn't work, and 9 times out of 10, it's the place I frequent the most.

I do too. I just wish it would work right at least 90% of the time. I hate IE, though... I've had a massive vendetta against Micro$oft for like 20 years now (or, at least, since MS-DOS 5.0)... they seem to have a pattern of releases that go "good, meh it's alright (for the odd release, like Win 3.12), WTF ARE YOU THINKING?!", and I hate buying their products on a "WTF" release (like Vista...).

Snickerdoodles, burnt on the bottom but still squishy on top. ^_^

I use Flock. It was developed by Firefox but it doesn't seem to have as many problems. It's mainly for forums and facebook. It doesn't have all of the extras needed by a full search engine but it still does pretty good searches. I've tried most of the others (except Opera) and it seems to do best for me. I also have Firefox but I refused the update so it's doing ok. I also have Chrome.
I'm going looking for Opera now. I like to have options, lol. :D

I just wanted to make it known that I have upgraded to the new version of Firefox (3.6.13) and there are no issues with cookies or anything else.

Loony, I say...you are all loony!
