Once again the Yuletide season is upon us, and once again Christmas is under attack. Just wonder if the obsessively anti-Islam "conservatives" are paying attention to who's behind the latest attacks on this most joyous of holidays. It ain't the Muslims, folks:

For the second time in five years, a San Diego community group has been asked to take “Christ” out of its signature Christmas event...

The aquatic-themed parade, “Christmas By The Sea,” will feature more than 1,200 participants from marching bands, drill teams, ROTC units, scout troops, equestrians and a camel.
...
Deborah Hertz, a chair in modern Jewish studies at the University of California San Diego, pushed for the change. Renaming the event the La Jolla Holiday Parade would reflect “an invitation to people from all backgrounds to celebrate their particular histories without stamping any one of those histories as the official town religion,” Hertz said. “You could say it’s just a word, but I would argue that it’s the name of the festival and names matter.”

Her husband, Martin Bunzl, has called for a community hearing on the matter. “If they don’t give it a complete examination, my intention is to go before the corporate sponsors and raise my concerns,” said Bunzl, professor of philosophy and director of the Rutgers Initiative on Climate Change.

...
In San Diego, the most controversial move came eight years ago when Christmas on the Prado became Balboa Park December Nights. In 2005, Encinitas Mayor Dan Dalager changed the name from Holiday Parade to Christmas Parade, angering the city’s Jewish population. The Holiday Parade was later reinstated.
...

This is what it is. Certainly these people don't speak for all Jewish residents of La Jolla nor for all Jews in America, nevertheless its interesting that the people attacking the most important traditional cultural holiday on ethnic and religious grounds are not the hated Muslims but in fact their arch enemies. So, something to consider next time you neo-cons think we should blindly support Israel, the Jewish state, against the Muslims or buy into the line that its somehow the Muslims who are taking the Christian and western heritage away from America. Muslims don't have the power to that in the first place, nor do most of them want to.

does this thread have a point? or is it just another over-generalization so you can more easily stir all conservatives and neo-cons into your big smoldering cauldron of hate?

I know these types of "JEWS"

They also WILLINGLY and LOVINGLY buy and clean the knife and gift wrap it

To the MOOSEFUCKS

In teh name of diversity!

It's just a word.

No, calling it a "Christmas" parade makes it a parade celebrating a Christian holiday. The word is way overused and only Christians (and idiot marketers) think the whole season belongs to them...

Christmas

Yes the celebration must be stopped! You can't have a city full of people professing joy and good will towards men! I mean all of those beautiful lights, and and people being joyful it must be stopped! After all all those people being nice to each other is done simply to offend Jews, they don't have any ties to Christians.

Give me a break! This PC stuff has to stop somewhere, and I don't think just because you're a minority you get to take cheap shots. Share and enjoy all our cultural celebrations.

I remember an atheist calling in to a talk show, he said during the holiday time people wished him a merry Christmas. Was he offended, did he lecture them that there was no god, no he said thanks and wish them well, because people were wishing him the best.

Enjoy the celebration with your neighbors no matter who they are....

Where did you get that idea about "only Christians think the whole season belongs to them"?
And "idiot marketers" who only want Christians to buy gifts?
Are you serious?

I'm saying everything has the word "Christmas" in it. Christmas presents, Christmas trees, Christmas dinner, Christmas shopping. Christmas gift giving guides...

Christmas is specifically Christian, yet the word is used blanket style, especially to marketers.
