Hospital food being what it is I got together with some of my co-workers and decided to do something nice for the patients on my unit. We had this all planned out a while back and were able to get things together.

Some were bringing in Candied Yams, others were bringing in other veggies. Me? I was doing the meat. (All of us were scheduled off for Thanksgiving.)

I had picked up several Butterball Turkey Breast Roasts. (Cajun Seasoned)

Last night I defrosted four of them.

This morning I fired up the smoker and tossed all four of these roasts inside and let them cook to perfection. (In smokey steam of course.)

When the roasts were done I packed them into a cooler along with several Hot Packs for the trip to the hospital.

We served 23 patients and even had enough left over for the staff.

Yes the patients were fed first, and they truly enjoyed the meal.

We got a nice feeling from watching them eat and hearing their thanks.

That was a noble gesture Cat. You are truly a prince among men. :D

I'm sure those poor souls appreciated having a non-hospital food Thanksgiving meal. It must be a bitch being bedridden in a hospital on such a friends and family oriented holiday.

Cajuned-seasoned turkey for bed-bound hospital patients? Hmmmm.
