Snow! Sleet! Storms! Oh My!

The way to grandma's house ("over the river and through the woods") looks to be a bit more difficult this year:

The powerful storm system closed roads and delayed flights from Anchorage to Salt Lake City, and promised to bring messy wintery weather to much of the Dakotas on Thanksgiving Day. Freezing rain glazed roads across the Midwest, and at least three traffic deaths in Iowa were blamed on the weather....

.... Early-season snowstorms buried Seattle, and shut down highways for a time in Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. It also brought strong winds Wednesday from New Mexico to Missouri.

On the plus side, if you're going to be stuck someplace while it snows, storms, sleets outside, better it be with friends and family (well, most family) and a choice of holiday pies

Hah! Both grandmas are coming here for Thanksgiving. Saves me no end of travel travail.

Things are fine, but cool in the Sunshine state.

Had some cold weather at night, but almost 60 now.

It's cold enough here to freeze the balls off a pool table and the wind is blowing hail (my version) snow (the weather people) in sideways. It's not fit weather out for man nor beast. (I was just out in it and there's some discussion locally about my possibly fitting into both categories.)

It was beautiful here in central Florida...highs in the low 80's...some humidity...partly cloudy...it's 75 right now at 9:15PM EST...all in all a winter visitor's day.

We spent part of the afternoon walking barefoot on the beach. Well, at least I was barefoot.
