charity

whatever i can, whenever i can, plus my time 3 days a week to a deaf/blind charity.

why? because i'm just one human trying to help others in society.

and while i claim unemployment, i feel i'm giving something back to the community by doing those hours as a volunteer worker.

Thank you for your input.

Great choice.

Thanks, bear.

We donate a fair amount each year directly to a children's cancer charity. I also do charity races for Lung Cancer and Lymphoma/Leukemia, since I lost one parent to one and one (step) to the other. When others do similar races, we always sponsor them.

I used to take homeless people grocery shopping, but we don't have any homeless people here in the plantation paradise of CA.

Beyond that, it's ad hoc/whatever strikes us/circumstantial.

On track.

I give to the Food Bank of Alaska. Not piles of outdated cans of food from the pantry, but cash so they can buy what they need and keep their program going.

I give to Engineers Without Borders and two engineering scholarship funds. I tend to drop my pocket change in the Salvation Army buckets between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I give to Toys for Tots (three toys this year because I was an idiot, see above) and the Red Cross.

There's a few non-profits that I don't consider charities that get some $$ and substantial time from me, too.

And then, there's the relatives, but that's another story.

Mrs t has her own list of charities and non-profits.

I give porn to the OXNARD REPUBLICAN WOMEN FEDERATED. :D

I don't give much money through out the year. I do volunteer about 100 hours a year to Habitat for Humanity, where I teach white collar workers to install siding an interior trim.

could this O/one point out that looking a site with a high content of images of naked females does not cause either blindness or deafness, so on that basis i give you absolution to not have to spend too long working with blind and/or deaf people. (unless you have got a good scam going selling them broken televisions and/or radios)

amnesty international and air ambulance. I also bung on a quid or two on whatever appeal is running on ebay/paypal if I buy something. As long as it's not an animal charity.

Why? same reason most people do it. it makes me feel better.

The Alzheimer's Association.

The work I do in my "regular life" often places me on the front lines of dealing with and assisting people and families who are struggling with Alzheimer's. Its a tragic disease and the sad reality is, the longer we live, the more likely we are to develop a form of Alzheimer's or dementia. I also have several loved ones who have had or currently have this disease.

The Association is a wonderful resource for anyone who is touched by Alzheimer's and they provide many free services in various communities nationwide.

Lest we forget.

Hahaha...

Y'know, it actually *is* very beneficial to have a sense of humor when dealing with the demented population.

And there are a lot of demented folks on these interwebs..... :p

homeless people because i don't care if they're going to buy thunderbird or crack. whatever makes 'em happy works for me.
