On TLC, TheLLearning Channel, much to the chagrin of the Left, an eight part series being aired Sunday evenings...

I do watch two 'reality' shows, Ice Road Truckers and Deadliest Catch, and, oh, the first Colony that ran last year.

Along with the Palin family, there is the magnificence of Alaska from several different aspects, that one might find enjoyable.

The Palin's have thus far done some skeet shooting, some salmon fishing, with brown bears as an audience, some mountain climbing on a glacier and commercial fishing for Flounder, which was a little gory as Briston stunned the huge fish with a bat then stabbed them in the gills to 'bleed out' to keep the meat white, and then worked the 'slime line' in a fish processing plant.

Watched two episodes thus far and will be inspired, I think to create a new thread: "The Palin's in the White House", as that seems to be the impetus of the Left, believing she cannot win.

Palin was interviewed on the Hannity Show this evening and I think I am beginning to change my mind. Palin may well run, she may well win the Primaries...and, I think, could beat Obama in a head to head in 2012.

First Black President followed by the First Woman President? Stranger things have happened!

Bush the Lesser pushed the limits of electable stupidity to new lows, but paved the way for Old White Guy and Hot Bitchy Mess. It turns out that Old White Guy was an overreach again - actually had pretenses of governing, damnit! - while Hot Bitchy Mess is now taking mindless political discourse to the level of High School Homecoming Court elections.

I haven't seen the show - don't plan to - but it seems to have performed its function well in your case, if you can actually picture the bimbo in the Oval Office. She'll go nuts trying to find a corner to put her husband in.

Mother Grizzly indeed. The splice shots of her preparing showed her as a girl jumping off some very scary heights. She does dance well for a fat girl.

You might think about reconsidering your definition of Intellectuals, especially the role they play in governance.

You might also consider the built in disdain that the intellectual left displays concerning the common man and his common sense philosophical and political POV.

Bill Clinton was of high intellect and a....pervert, an adulterer, a man without a moral foundation. Barrack Hussein Obama is of high intellect with utter and abject disdain for the American concept of a free society with a burning desire to 'transform' America into a Democratic Socialist State.

Don't always trust the intellectuals in any scenario. Some of the finest minds here are fatally flawed by an ignornace of common sense moral and ethical issues.

Sarah Palin is not a 'bimbo' and you know it. What frightens you and the Liberal community is her real down home, basic American outlook on life, on politics and on religion.

She convinced me of her sincerety and basic human values when she met, head on, the criticism of her and her daughter Bristol who had a child out of wedlock and as an underage child. She faced it; head on, no apologies and a challenge to her critics to face their own foibles and those of their children on the public stage.

I don't like her religion, I don't like her blackmailing oil companies that do business in Alaska; but most Americans will like her religion and understand that her family values are what they aspire to.

Ur just not seein' the Big Picture.

Oh come on, Amicus, I know you were one of the hundreds of Tea Partyers who flooded ABC's website and phone lines with votes for Bristol.

You did it just to piss me off.

All kidding aside, you have to have heard or read a few of the news stories about all the hoopla over Bristol being on Dancing with the Stars. So many people are whining about ABC making a political statement, so many people think Sarah Palin is paying ABC to keep her daughter on the show. I think it's ludicrous myself, but hey, anything's possible.

They're in the finals this week. Bristol Palin, Jennifer Grey (you remember her from Dirty Dancing) and Kyle Massey (Cory from Cory in the House [Disney Channel]) and rumor has it the Tea Party already has the Mirror Ball trophy (the trophy the winner of Dancing with the Stars gets) in the proverbial bag for Bristol.

Can't say I'm happy about it, but it is just a TV show after all, one of my favorites. I just wish your Tea Party pals would've found another way to send their political message than to disrupt a popular television show with their antics. I even read on a Tea Party blog that they were doing it (and I quote): "just to watch leftys' heads explode."

Well, my head won't explode, but I will be disappointed if the rumored outcome becomes reality. I've accepted the politics here on the Lit boards, but I'd rather not see them muck up an entertaining television show....one of the few shows I watch these days.

I know you have no control over the ones who are doing this, of course, I just wanted to chime in here on Bristol Palin and her appearance on DWTS. She's not the best dancer, but she's giving it her all and she's a better dancer than I could ever be, fat girl or not. And really, she's not fat, just a little chubby.

Sorry for the Fat Girls crack. Maybe I should have used the term, "Weight Challenged". She started out at least 20-30 lbs over weight and has slimmed down a good deal since she started. Good for her, she's getting a good look at the other side of the world and she is developing more confidence, which is good for her.

You have to understand that one of my basic tenets of life is "Even fat girls need love too." Bristol is a bit 'chubby' but she'll change over time. In the meantime she has thighs you could lay a three course dinner on to be close to the dessert.

She still can't dance to the level of the others and she should have been dumped after the second or third elimination.

It's kind of like watching a prancing Clydesdale, competing against Arabians.

As for her momma, all that basket ball shaped her up, but she still has her problems.

One of the producers of the Dance contest show stated that the voting procedure has always been the same and that the public poll accounts for fifty percent of the decision, with judges votes and other considerations making up the other half.

While the series premiere drew almost 5 million viewers, that number dropped to 3 million for the show’s second episode, according to ratings data provided by the network. TV By The Numbers reports that the show, which was ranked 10th in basic cable shows for its premiere week, fell out of the top 25 and was ranked 68th by viewers for its second week.

No worries says Palin’s network. "We are very happy with the ongoing strength of Sarah Palin's Alaska, and it continues to drive big ratings gains for TLC,” said a statement provided to CNN by TLC.

Well, Sarah's show took a 40% ratings dive, the demographics are terrible.

Bristol came in 3rd on Dancing With the Stars, apparently not able to gain enough votes during the heavily-watched final show. Liberals' heads were not made to explode, alas.

Now a study of US adults suggests why: Tea Partiers are really different from actual average Americans.

Tea party backers fashion themselves as "we the people," but polls show the Republican Party's most conservative and energized voters are hardly your average crowd.

According to an Associated Press-GfK Poll this month, 84 percent who call themselves tea party supporters don't like how President Barack Obama is handling his job – a view shared by just 35 percent of all other adults. Tea partiers are about four times likelier than others to back repealing Obama's health care overhaul and twice as likely to favor renewing tax cuts for the highest-earning Americans.

Exit polls of voters in this month's congressional elections reveal similar gulfs. Most tea party supporters – 86 percent – want less government intrusion on people and businesses, but only 35 percent of other voters said so. Tea party backers were about five times likelier to blame Obama for the country's economic ills, three times likelier to say Obama's policies will be harmful and twice as apt to see the country on the wrong track.

These aren't subtle shadings between tea party backers and the majority of Americans, who don't support the movement; they're Grand Canyon-size chasms.

America remains a 'center right' nation, with 40% identifying themselves as 'Conservative' opposed to only 21% who claim to be Liberal.

Conservative is usually defined as small government, low taxes, and I think that is where most Americans are.
