I just had a 40 minute convo with a Tea Party member

So, now you're up to about 8%...

Dimwit.

I don't know who gets the award, you for ignorance of audience numbers or Luke for leaving a slime trail back to his lair...

Limbaugh pulls in 15-30 million listeners alone. That's about 8% of America with just one show.

business must be slow , eh , Dyk ?
I mean you've got ample time to do another one of your " search " crusades , right ?

congratulations on another milestone accomplishment here !

Actually, kind of busy today, thanks for your concern semen4vette. Plus I have that one bookmarked :)

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Limbaugh doesn't even come close to reaching 15-30 million listeners per show. Do you pull these numbers out of your ass?

I'll bet you've never had a Democrat/liberal say something stupid, racist, or offensive when talking to you. Right?

I got one yesterday. My daughter's professor has decided that nobody, ever, has the right to correct anyone, ever, on their language usage. Considering my daughter is planning to be a teacher, this makes being a teacher problematic. Passing the course, even more problematic. Because she's going to have to write an essay (the teacher doesn't believe in "tests" and final grade is entirely an essay) to pass. Apparently according to this teacher, correcting anybody ever is a form of oppression.

Of course, she doesn't think this rule applies to herself, as apparently she's failed everybody for not reflecting her premise right back to her.

When Republicans claim that there are crazy people teaching our children...they ain't lying. My daughter is going to settle on the course of action of writing what she knows the teacher wants to hear, getting an A for pandering and reverse-engineering what her teacher wants to hear...and then dropping the crazy instructions to construct an essay to the Dean of the school and warning everyone to avoid her on RateYourProfessor.com.

I still haven't figured out how my daughter is supposed to write an essay that avoids "oral words, expressions or idioms."

Crazy is not limited to one side of the spectrum or the other. There are people who take simple, common-sense things and take them too far into the crazy side of things, then have authority over others. It's not limited to a party.

Your daughter sounds very intelligent. And yes, crazy gets around. It really does.

This is the best post I've read on GB since delving into this nonsense. Usually, you see anybody too far over on one side of ANYTHING (oh god, someone should have told me BB's tourettes is contagious) can usually be discounted as nutjob.

Hey dimwit...

Does it ever occur to you that not only are those not unique, additive audiences but that they are also comprised of a fair amount of Blue Dogs, Libertarians, and Independents, the same groups that were with you against the Republicans right before they were against you having finally realized that your party actually IS full of Socialist and Communists...

My daughter's awesome. She asked some very pointed questions in order to triangulate this lady's position. I said her professor was probably terrified of creating a teacher from her class that was her version of "oppressive." My daughter asked if there was any way to take a corrective experience that might be perceived as negative and make it positive? Her teacher's answer: No.

Oh-kay.

So I told her to focus on when this has been absolutely and literally true in history. Mongolians being taught Russian by the Soviets, Tibetans being stripped of their culture and language by China, Native American tribes being told they can't be taught their language in their schools.

It helps to speak crazy if you want an A. It helps if you can find examples that aren't traps.

If she can keep it overblown and avoid any and all nuance and gray area, she'll be fine if she can manage not to throw up long enough. I have faith in her.

WE ARE ALL BUSYBODY!:D

Thank you. :)

I don't really pick teams, but I recognize team colors. There's usually a star athlete held back on the worst teams and a dumbass dragged along to glory on the best team.

I'm more about the stats of individual players than I am cheering for one side or the other.

I think I know where your daughter got her intelligence. :)

Yeah, but they both suck. I'm against 'em both. In fairness I point 'em out.

I'm also deeply offended by those who "care about the Earth" but are the most irresponsible, pretentious and entitled people who think they're God's gift because they use cruelty free makeup and have a hybrid as one of their multiple cars.

If the musical "Rent" could disappear off my planet, I'd love that. If it never, ever, ever got any critical acclaim, even fucking better.

So yeah, both sides have 'splaining to do.
