Does openly supporting an obvious racist (Ginny) make one a racist?

Which is, in fact, the mature way to respond and which would legitimately leave people like me saying "hey, she must have been frustrated about something, fine, move on."

The words she chose felt like they came from someplace a little deeper than just the region of the brain you use for being throwaway pithy or forgettably hipster-racist snarky on the internet. It might be from an honest place within herself that she hasn't shown you yet, in your private relationship with her. Maybe you weren't meant to see it, if she had her druthers. If that was honesty from alcohol, then she needs a better bartender.

She'll have to live with that honesty. I don't have to accept it. Just like I don't have to accept second-hand anecdotal contrition for that bullshit. Doesn't mean I think she's a monster or that I deserve something from her. But that is her and she had enough care to be glib about it as a response. I don't think she's invested at all in the site or me, and my opinion means about 0.00000(very little number) in any choice made about it. I doubt she'll be back any time soon if at all.

I'm more likely to accept the second hand because it agrees with my first hand. For those with no hands...I'm totally with you and think that's your best bet.

There's no "moving on" from what she said. She'll carry that asterisk forever and it's probably not worth the work to attempt to salvage whatever she once had here in terms of friends and support. "Maybe I wouldn't ignore you" isn't really a ringing endorsement from anybody.
