What a track to race on in the wet  I guess there will be lots of crunched panels left for the fans, the up side of the rain is it's a great leveler for the lower $$$ guys to show there wares.

WAKE UP AUSSIES & visitors.

Where has everyone gone?

What are your plans for the weekend?

Did you have a good week?

Happy Veterans Day to all Ausssies who have served. *SALUTE*

11am on the 11th of the 11th is a special time when all Aussies should remember all the service men & women who have served or serve this wonderful counrty.

Sadly my last place of work ignored it  & it was an Aussie owned & run company.

Seems many ignore it. Most companies and Unions here trade the day off for the Friday after Thanksgiving. A day they take off any way.

anyone going to sexpo?

:eek:WOW a whole weekend without a post.

Did you get to Sexpo ? How was it?

The last few Sydney Sexpos didn't impress a lot of people who have been regulars attending & all the stalls seem to be pushing the same stuff.

i finally have a few minutes to sit down and breathe!
so i thought i'd post about the weekend at symmond's and the V8's :)

firstly, i had an absolute ball :D
the weather was typical tassie - rain, then sunny on friday (i got sunburnt!)... rain, then sunny on saturday.... and nothing but rain on sunday, quite heavy at times, and everybody froze!

on thursday evening, i went down to a book signing in town that craig lowndes was doing. i was the first person there, and so was first in line when lowndsy turned up :)
i took in the fullsize windscreen from his 2006 betta electrical sandown racecar (the one they replaced halfway thro the race when he copped a stone mid-screen), and i also took the 1:18 scale betta electrical car.
as soon as lowndsy saw the windscreen, he stopped and signed everything and then we had a long chat about the sandown race.
it was great to have that one-on-one time :)
oh, and i bought his book as well and am about halfway thro it - it gives a good insight into how he thinks and races.

friday was symmonds practice day, and i took another 8 model cars for lowndes and whincup to sign.
not only did i get them all done, but i got a personal tour of the vodafone trailer and pit garage!
awesome stuff :D

saturday was also taken up with getting models signed - this time i was after courtney and dick johnson.
plus i got to spend another hour or so in the vodafone camp.
and i got a signed photo of the 1/2 finish at bathurst!!! happy happy me!
and of course there was the qualifying, shootout and race 1.
long, long day.

sunday.
apart from the racing...... i achieved one of the key things we've been looking to get for some time....
craig lowndes came out of the course to our car, and signed on the big girl! :D :D :D
he asked a load of questions about what we've done to the car, and signed across the dash.
he gave me a few suggestions for the suspension (we've been breaking the stabilisers whenever we give the car a decent run) and then lowndsy had his picture taken in front of our car!

all in all, i had a great weekend.
and i convinced my non-car-mad no1son to come to the races sat and sun, so he got to interact with lowndes and whincup on a 1 to 1 basis also!
i may have created a monster tho - now son wants to go to at least 5 races including bathurst next year!

Hi

just a quick message to say hi to any other perth people on here :)
been on lit for awhile but never come into the discussions.

Are going to get 'spanked' in The Ashes!

Where were you when the 4 nations rugby league was on?

Only finsihed 3rd behind the Aussies although the kiwis beat us.

As for the ashes I have no interest & haven't the poms decided no matter who wins they keep the ashes anyway?

You mean they'd lose the Ashes ON PURPOSE? Which of the England team dishes out the spankings?

Damn now I'm wondering if it might need to be a bowler?

if so spin or speed?

if batsman would it be the boundry batter or the accuracy batter?

Well that ends all my knowledge on cracket oops cricket.

Sounds like a perfect rev heads weekend WQ with typical symmond's weather.

Unhappily, it will now always be remembered here as the day of my fathers funeral. I have been missing online for many weeks while taking care of family business - missed you all and the nightly banter - I think I'm back now!

Hope you've all kept well and naughty - I'll catch up on the backlogged pages later.....

See what happens you you go missing from us  hope you know your been missed here & hows life treating you?

Smiles...how lovely of you to say Mr Gil. A hello to you and Bandit and of course all the lovelies on here.

Well the wounds are licked and almost healed. Lessons learnt and wisdom embedded. So the tentative toes are back out getting a feeling for life again.

On the other side have had Mum in hospital for past two three weeks. She had an AAA or Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. It came within 1mm of bursting, and when they burst there is no precedure to maintain life. But she had the most wonderful surgeons who against all odds have tied it off and she is in ICU now recovering. It's a long path still. But there was no chance given for her suriving surgery let alone recovering and that tough old girl has pulled through again. They make us extra feisty in our family ;) So life has been hospital, hospital and more hospital. I know so many of you out there have similiar experiences, my thoughts and prayers are with all.

On the other side well the trip to New Zealand has been postponed for another two weeks. But is something to look forward to still. Only doing Wellington now..I mean visiting Wellington  ...laughs.

Stay well and be safe everyone.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

PS now about those SPANKINGS!!
