Do you have the wanderlust?

A traveling job!

I had a job that required me to travel almost non-stop for nearly 10 years. I sooo miss those days..

Travel for work, of course is very different than traveling on vacation. But I still had fun.

Thought the end of that statement was going to be the total opposite. What a surprise. lol! Usually when something is required for work purposes, people don't like it.

I think it would weigh me down if the travel was non-stop and required of me for *that* long of a time. Unless it was to someplace new most times and with some nice sights to see.

When you love something...

When you really love something, you will never tire of it..

Restarting the thread..

To connect with other wanderers and gypsies.

Let's share some travel experiences.

Another gypsy here...

I have been an over the road truck driver for the past 11 years, with a 2.5 yr stint in the office in that time.... I have seen every state in the US, plus a little side trip to Mexico and of course Canada. It is different for drivers... we usually have no opportunity to actually see the things most vacationers do. But we get to see enough.. it soothes the ADD in me.

I love learning, especially about science. So geological formations, history, anthropology is something I try to pander when I am able to. I have yet to leave the continent.. simply because I have been too busy working.. laughing. But hope to. I love visiting old ruins, there is something about placing one's hand along an ancient door jamb, that countless others touched so long ago. You can almost feel the energy, the vibe left behind... You can feel the breath of ancestry whip about you as you stand there.... It is an awesome feeling.

Reboot..

Lets see if there other wanderers who want to share their views.

Anyone make plans for winter travel?

i'm currently grounded. rooted deep.
i fight the urge to go.
to wander.
to hear other stories.

I am lucky to have a gig that has taken me to 6 out of 7 continents. LOVE to travel, so I keep playing lotto!

I'm nuts about exploring different cultures.
I've been browsing the net for deals to Kathmandu for the last couple of days. The price is too damn high

Out of curiosity, which continent haven't you been to? And which was your favorite?

I like to travel but nowadays it's more about not being home than about going somewhere new or exciting. I've stood on every continent and been just about everywhere I want to go with the exception of Moscow and St. Petersburg. After the kids are gone I might go there. Just don't have the need to do it like I used to.
Like going to different tropical islands. After a while you figure out they're pretty much all the same. Sorta takes the fun out of it.
