Just curious, how long are story submissions listed as "Pending" before being submitted and published on the site? Thank you, I appreciate the input as a newbie

Depends on a lot of things, subject matter, category, time of year, time of week lol. Some of mine have gone up in as little as 3 days but certainly no longer than a week. Keep your eye on it, it will pop up when you least expect it.

THE ***QUESTION or a form of it has been asked. And, yes, this is the place to ask it.

Welcome to AH, Kot. Three days is about standard, although that depends on the kind of story. Audible and Illustrated take much longer, maybe as long as three weeks. Posting a story also takes longer during a contest, such as is going on now, although it's almost over.

Of cojurse, a 25,000 word novel is going to take longer than a minimum length story. Some people say it takes longer to post stories by new authors, but that is not always true. I have been here longer than most, and have written more stories than most, and it takes the same length of time to post mine as to post those of others. Maybe longer. It took over four days to post my most recent contest entry.

Am I the only one who saw "Submissions Pending" and thought this thread was about something else?

Actually you can click the pending button all you want as long as you don't click the submit button at the end of the preview you will be fine. It's only if you make a change then submit that the story migrates to the end of the line again.
