Greetings cousins across the pond.

I've been making up scones using my favorite American biscuit recipe with sugar added, but they're not coming out as hearty and robust as scones sold at the local British food shops.

Now, granted, there's a decided different between British and American flour. That said, could you give me a good recipe?

Great recipes! Many thanks. I find the most interesting difference the one recipe that says to use room temp butter rather than cold butter as my biscuit recipe is all about cold butter.

I think it makes a difference to the texture, I've made American biscuits before and they're flakier and a bit lighter than a scone. I think that's the way the butter is mixed with the flour, at least in part.
