So I'm sure most of us skim if not full out read the threads posted under both the SRP board and here in the Lounge for there is a plethora of material. Obviously all this content is produced by a diverse and talented group of writers and I had a brilliant idea regarding that fact. Why not throw some spotlight on those that deserve it and we can all compare notes on whose writing we enjoy, what we're all reading and who inspires us if anyone. Or we can all simply set this thread on fire and ignore it so it's a win win either way!

My personal list (No particular order)

- The writers of the "On Tour With Velocity" thread:
Fuckmeat, Leopald, Princesssexci, MaskOfSand, Everbloom, Fr33kS33k, UnholyPimpHand, UkStud69

Truly a gifted group of writers whose work makes me second guess my own which in turn motivates me to write better instead of just turning in average work. An honor to work with all of them!

- Monique Minx

Witty, sarcastic, detailed and a grammer Nazi, Minx is one tough cookie and phenominal writer. Her writings span all sorts of different threads but always have that distinct Minx feel to them, all quite entertaining. H&H with FirmHandedDaddy is a gem, if you're not reading it your missing out.

- FirmHandedDaddy

The other half of the H&H thread, his character building is a case study in what should be done. Minx and FHD trade pages, not just paragraphs, of really interesting and well though out work. Cheers to you sir!

- Ausus_girl13 & Vail_Indigo

While not per-say a package deal in the traditional sense, their level of intimacy when they write together is detailed and very sexy. But they never lose a sense of playfullness and that's what keeps it fun. Well done ladies!

- NickIsSora

Always written in a high level of detail with a well fleshed out concept, Nick is extremely active but never lets the juggle detract from his work. If we could only all multi-task such as you, the Chinese would not be slowly taking us over. Oh well. :D

- Memphistophelily

Sarcastic banter is always top notch, I can't help but chuckle at most of her playful and smart aleck posts in the lounge.

I will post more later as I think of em, this was just a quick brain dump. I sure hope this works!

This is alot like my writer appreciation thread. (See my sig for the link to it) Not that I mind. There's enough awesome people here that need all the props they can get.

In fact, I'd like to give props to Monique Minx. she's a reader of threads, a supporter of other threads, a fantastic rper, and a good friend here.

Awww shucks boys. Shhh! Everyone else will know now!

*Giggles*

And there you go slag fucker, you're a special kind of retard now ;) and where's my something sharp?!?! Promises, promises and no delivery with you FD.

I have a Minx feel now? *Scrubs myself up and down, hopping around* Get it off me! Get it OFF ME!!

Awww...I'm a funny cunt *wipes an eye*

Thanks guys. I just like reading and being helpful. You know I have a record 81 subscriptions to my threads and the ones I follow? ;)

Thanks Jokas, we did a fair bit of brainstorming after my original idea and fleshed out the rules between Heaven and Hell. We haven't gotten to the meaty part of the story yet but...*Grins at FD*...we can't wait!

There's three of these kinds of threads now heh, Veroe's, FM's and this one. Unfortunately they just don't stay up top long enough, I always add my reading ones to my own thread instead *shrugs*

*a laugh and shake of his head* Your right Minx, you are one funny cunt. Shakespeare himself could not of put it better honestly, though I swear you might of been a reference in MacBeth.

"Out Minx, out I say you damned smart ass!"

Or maybe I'm paraphrasing? :D I stick by this joke for the record, I will defend it to literary hell if need be!

UnHolyPimpHand of course tops my list. He has a way with words that can bring about emotions and feelings and a tingle down your spine that leaves you wanting more More MORE!! And you get that man writing a darker scene? Good god, I want to hide under the covers and keep a flashlight. Vati, you scare me in the most wonderful of ways.

TheGrind just about made me squeal in bliss when he PM'ed me on the TMLaD thread. Peeking at his other stuff left me hoping he might be one to take an interest.

VampiricTouch, I want to steal your brain.

I'm sure there are others, but at the moment, I'm both posting here and to a thread, so it's hard to focus well enough on everything.

I totally agree with you on TheGrind and UPH---they're just whoa!!

I would like to give props to MaskofSand and Wolf Vixen. Their way with words is wonderful. I wish I had just a drop of their talent then perhaps I'd do a lot better at writing :)

*Bows dramatically while laughing*

Don't know anyone who wants me to leave though hunny ;)

Ooo Mask, I have enjoyed reading your Castle of Sand scenes  thank you for those, very interesting! You're a pretty gifted writer yourself.

Agreeing with UPH, I adore that madman  Can't bloody wait til he replies in our thread and gets back to tormenting my poor Sophie!

TheGrind, I am testing the waters with him and thus far he is doing pretty well. Has a few character confusion moments though.

I have to give mention to Veroe and Leopald, our thread together has me tingling with anticipation! Veroe; I declare you a god of role play for that idea alone! And my sweet Sir Leo; beat me, fuck me and skewer me on a pike. I will still come crawling back for more each and every time. (And that's just from what he writes! )

And now it's my turn to hit threads  no rest for the incredibly wicked, alas!

How did I forget Veroe? Between the dope ass Puppet sig (seriously, its funny) and a helluva mind for writing, I can't believe I forgot you sir. Most already know of your talents but for those that don't, they're asleep at the wheel!

I started writing all this because I realized that well, there is a ton of shit here on the boards. Everyone I've mentioned along with other talented writers keep my interest and make me want to improve my talents, I thank you all for that. The last thing the world needs is more 2-bit shovel ware writing and you guys are the last line of defense against that, props to you all.

I've done this before but i don't mind doing it again so that my partners or former partners know how much I enjoy/enjoyed writing with them

BlueMage- He is incredibly gifted at writing and I always feel ashamed when i can only give him like 3 or 4 paragraphs after he's given me a novel's worth of writing to go off of, not to mention most if not all of his posts have me amused and I thoroughly enjoy working with him whenever i get the chance

Fukensploogin- He isn't on here anymore but he was another incredible writer that I always enjoyed posting with. His posts were fucking hot and got me wet every time I read them. He was incredibly detailed, in fact he was the one to inspire me to write more then 3 lines worth of writing for each post and I miss him so, may his writings R.I.P.

Dragonrazor- Despite the fact that he THINKS he's a crappy writer, he's actually a good one. If you give him a good topic to go off of, he is a good writer. He was also one of my first RP partners on here and never abandoned me in a thread. <3

The_PG- I've worked him with at least twice now and every time I do, I enjoy it because I always have to ponder my response be it a Batgirl response or a Harley I'm always sitting at the comp like 'holy shit, what the hell am I supposed to do now?!' and well, i love a challenge. He is also another writer that makes me get descriptive on how I'm feeling, etc.

Chronicle_Tenko- We have yet to finish a thread together but everytime we jump in the same RP, I am always amazed by his writing skills.

Oreocookies- Her writing skills have increased since she first came to lit, she took my advice and got a tad bit more descriptive.

Lily- What can I say, I love her writing, she is the writer I want to be one day. She is my role model...

Reiha- Though I have never played with her CT, I've played with her and oh my gah! *melts* Need I say more?

I probably have more but can't think of any at the moment

I'm a role model?!
*Starts stuffing her questionable paraphernalia under the couch cushions*
I think about unicorns aaaaalll day.
...Wait, no, that's still bad after what my friend did in the sex shop.

No, noooo not the questionable paraphernalia!!!! Anything but that.

Well, since I was in here before and never actually chimed in with relevance... Here's mine.

Soru was one of the first people I wrote with in a 1/1 thread. He helped me build up my writing more descriptively, so the people that keep talking up my stuff :)o) should keep in mind he's one of 2 that influenced that. He's an incredibly creative guy, and sooo devious sometimes!!

Kuu, I miss you miss you. She was my sister in crime, just always seeming to be on the same wavelength as me. Her thread ideas were awesome, and I admit to stealing from them sometimes....

Eazy is going to accuse me of putting him on here simply because of his bitchfit, which is a part of it (Hush you), but also because he really is such a great writer. See that "One of 2" in Soru's paragraph? Meet the other. E's posts the first few times we wrote left me feeling terrible... "I can't keep up with this guy." But I did. His posts are so descriptive and wonderful, not to mention the guy himself. His way of writing just seemed to flow, and I learned to borrow that a bit. He writes stuff sometimes that makes me want to do things to my monitor that would totally violate the warranty. He's very versatile in his writing too, another that can be deviously dark at times, but that snark still running true. Don't believe me? Go peek in Stockroom. There's been times he's posted and I'm squeeking aloud at the screen at what he's done. Yes, squeak. He makes me squeak. He's very quick with the wit and snark, and I swear he's got url's to YouTube embedded in his head. He picks on me all the time on my Lit Crushes, but he's fully aware that he's one of them. He can be an ass, a brat, and a wiseass, but he encourages more of my wiseass out. And there's also the geekness. Gotta love the geekness. His knowledge of random 80's/90's pop culture always manages to get me laughing. If Sokka were real, then- No. Wait. Sokka -is- a real person, Nick just stole the idea from E.

Chas, speaking of geek, is my Geek Goddess. (No, screw Olivia Munn.) My Lady Wiki. This gal knows anything and everything. There are times I have to go Google after reading stuff from her.. "What did she call m- Oh, its a good thing. Okay." I get a little shy at times when writing with her, mainly on fears of tarnishing her work. Lily r not good to make words of like Chas.

Ahren might seem to be a stonefaced as Ben Stein, but he's got the brains of the guy too. (He really does have a sense of humor, too. I've seen it. A few times.) When he gets into the mindset of a character, he REALLY gets in there. My fave characters of his were Toushiro and Aaron, but the myth threads and such were awesome as well.

And I'll have more. Of course I'll have more.

More comparisons to old men. I see how it is. At least this time it isn't a puppet!

(What RP is Aaron from?)

Great thread idea!

There are many writers on Lit whose work I enjoy. I think I'd like to write singular posts to each one of them, expressing why I appreciate their work so much.

I may seem biased, but I have to begin with Light Ice. To further discredit myself, I will say he is the first person I've written with, but I honestly feel grateful that he was the one who 'broke me in.' ;D

You can find our story in my signature, but it's new, and I'm wet behind the ears. I haven't read all of Light Ice's stories, but I'd like to gush about the ones I have. I'd like to show off his writing to all of you - he'd never do this himself, and he SHOULD. He appears to have several stories that have, for one reason or another, died off. A shame. And at the same time, a great opportunity for readers to see his versatility, depth, and verisimilitude.

We Survived - A collaborative zombie story featuring about thirteen talented players in all. I was hooked from post one. Guess who started it? *Smiles* Really, the sheer terror LI spun together with wild imagery actually made me feel as if I were watching a film, rather than reading a story on an Internet board. One of the first times I spoke to this man, I told him my best friend and I held hands and screamed at the theater while watching a horror film. He laughed. I told him I hated most scary films. Now I look forward to every update on this thread. (I like to be scared more than I let on.)

A Wintered Heart - A beautiful, seemingly abandoned story with the ethereal Yeishia. He's a captive American soldier being cared for by the same Japanese woman he widowed at the beginning of the war. I lack the verbosity necessary to adequately express how their short, preciously few entries captivated me. Instead, I'll copy and paste in some of my favorite lines from LI's side:

"She reminded me of the mountain beside the village, beautiful and mysterious. A looming contradiction to me, whose harmony with this place was as certain as its belonging and whose purpose escaped only me. In many ways she was my time here, right before me. Reflected in some tangible form to which I could not touch, feel, or decipher. She washed my hands like a wife would wash a husbands, pouring warmed rose-water over them until the aches in those battered bones was soothed away and I had relaxed to her touch."

"Her fingers strayed along my chest, following the contours of the muscles. My body a corded stretch of them, ruggedly built. Fashioned by war. By evil deeds. If the Lord denied me anything here it was liquor, to which I had sated my demons and sustained for a year's time. I faced them now without it, and they wrought a dark tremor in my heart. In her face I saw an image of every wife I had widowed, every child I had orphaned. The grave claim of war adding to a balance to which I could not pay, bereft of penance and of means."

"I felt her small fingers, soft and slender spindles of sensation resting idle along the smooth plane beneath on my navel. The dark curls of hair along my skin damp from her cloth, warm water and the heat of her hands stirring my flesh. They did not venture further as they had in the days before, frozen by our first dialogue since my arrival. Beneath them, as if fleeing the sparks of sensation her touch wrought through me, my prick stretched out hard and proud. A column of smooth skin, silk over steel, ending in the great thickness of a velvet crown."

"But in this place, my prison of snow and solitude, I had learned that there lay a special intimacy between enemies. A conduit of emotion forged by hardship and loss."

"I felt his death in every corner, through every window. The weight of shattered dreams and lost hopes had settled upon this place; burdened it like some great and liquid weight."

"The years had passed since I had seen, let alone had a woman. By the night they visited sometime, in my dreams, vague remnants of memory echoing the subtle sparks of desire that lingered in the depths of my cold heart. Here, so close to her, I could feel my body react unimpeded. The massive stretch of my prick swelling swiftly beneath the waters, reaching as though to meet her hand. Hardening, a smooth column of iron beneath silk, the velvet crown thick and dark and blushed.

She had said my name. It'd have been nothing but she had not seen me. Her eyes had been closed, flanked by those sooted lashes. The only image of me she had captured had existed in the confines of her mind, the secret places where men could not hope to see.

A Shining Star with the dazzling SweetP4U. Oh, I loved this story. It was so deliciously executed. These two had amazing chemistry, as a professional killer and a glamorous, haughty actress. It was electric. What Light Ice does here is show incredible skill at subtle dry humor and grim, glitter-covered despair. I'm tempted to sit here and pluck out favorite parts, as I did with Wintered Heart, but it might take me forever.

In addition, I'm slowly - so very, very slowly - working on a few of LI's other stories, such as To Denver with SiaKlynn. Maybe if my mountain of work ever gets done, I'll be able to finish and re-edit my post as necessary. :)

I'd also like to say that my experience writing with Light Ice has been wonderful. I was flattered he even approached me for a story, especially when I'm so obviously inexperienced. He impressed me, one afternoon, by presenting several different ideas and potential plots, all of them dramatically different from one another. He graciously allowed me to choose our present story, about a Giants pitcher and a spark plug sports reporter.

Light Ice is an incredibly GIVING writer. He's made this entire process so easy for me. I'm out of my comfort zone, and he's holding my hand every step of the way. I've never written creatively - I don't count roleplay via IM. My talents lie in creating formal, slightly lyrical term and research papers. I'm playing a journalist, a profession I'd previously considered thankless. I imagine most columnists are told by their editors what to write, and they spend their days throwing various ephemera at the wall in hopes of finding something that will stick. When I accepted this story from Light Ice, I was only really looking forward to the sex scenes - you can only imagine why. :D

But now I've created this character, Samantha, and I'm starting to like her. I'm starting to see her as a separate individual from myself, and I've started to paint a picture of this person's background and personality in my mind. I find myself reading up on sports journalism, on newspaper writing in general, and learning more than I did before. I'm thankful to Light Ice, for all of this, because he's teaching me how to stretch myself as an author. He's great fun to collaborate with. We talk about our story, about the upcoming scenes, and his passion for the written word is so apparent. What's really enjoyable is seeing him tell me his plans for the next post, the next turning point in the story, and watching him flesh them out. I think I appreciate his talent even more now that I've seen some of his thought processes first hand.

The man has been infinitely patient with me. I run ideas past him, breathlessly, and he listens. He listens, he supports, he encourages. I rely on Light Ice to be brutally honest with me, and he has. But in addition to all that candor, he's been so kind, and so understanding. He's reminded me to stay loose, and to have a good time. I've always toyed with the idea of writing a story, or maybe a series of short stories, but I've never acted on it. "I lack the patience/intellect/ability/time/desire," I've told myself. Writing as a team with Light Ice has made me reconsider those thoughts a great deal.

On top of everything else, ladies? Light Ice is SEX-YYYY. Nothing makes me hotter than a man who knows how to write a detailed, delirious sounding fuck. I can't WAIT for his baseball player to finally sweep my reporter off her feet. It's going to be a slow burn, but the wait will be worth it. Whether he's playing romantic, playful, rough, or wild, he repeatedly showcases the fact that he knows just how to please a woman. When you add that rare ability with his endless creativity and meticulously thought-out storylines, you have a home run of a combination - pun fully intended.

SweetP4U - Nobody, ever, has played wicked so well and with just enough class that it came off without seeming trashy. She's a wonderful, wonderful co-writer and one of the few people on Lit that I keep contact with on messenger. Anyone, and everyone, who knows her knows she's a real doll and one of the best you'll ever see.

SiaKlynn - I've known her for ages, ages, and ages. She's sharp, she's seductive, and she's a ton of fun. One of the coolest and warmest women you will ever have the pleasure of knowing in any capacity at all.

MadMissJ - There's nothing I can say here that I haven't said to you, kiddo. You're an absolute wonder with your characters and a wicked partner. We have a million stories open together that we'll get back to, and a million more we'll start when we both have the time.

FuckFantasy - You're the new girl and you've rocked my world. The talent that spills from you is overwhelming and when you find your narrative, your real narrative, there's few that could hold a candle. It doesn't hurt that you're one of the warmest souls I've had the pleasure of meeting. I'm glad for you. Always.

Vail - Someone, and I won't tell you who, asked me who I felt was hands down better then me at writing on Lit. I said you. Technically, I'm confident I can stand beside you. But what makes you special, and I mean -really- special here, isn't your technical skill. It's your voice. Your narrative accomplishes in three words what most of us need fifty to convey. There's a true potency to your dialogues.

I almost want to say it's wasted on erotica. Porn writing, while fun, is an almost inexcusably poor place for you to exercise your ability. Go write books. Go do something. Please.

Veroe - Veroe could write 50 threads with 50 unique characters and 50 different co-writers and keep up with all of them, challenge all of them, and excel in all of them. He's a wonderful adept at personifying identities in characters and has a gift for giving his co-writers really brilliant clues as to how to react and write with him. It's a skill. He has many others.

Firmhanded_Daddy - I don't write a ton of BDSM or rough stuff because I'm not comfortable with how little I know. You are. For good reason. Of all the guy writers on here that play the Master card you do it the best, by far, without question. It comes off with a degree of authenticity that most others can't manage and blends the darker aspects of a man's inclinations with the softer, protective ones. You're one of the few "Dominant" writers I can read without feeling it's cheese or too far over the edge for me.

My threads are never abandoned, only put on the shelf. I confess that my tendency to be here for a few weeks and then gone for a few more is extremely hard on my co-writers.

ETA:

I initially posted only this. I'm thankful for everything you've said, FF. A little bit in shock. I hope more men here get to write with you, and soon, because you are an exceedingly rare talent for a place like this and a perfect writing partner. I absolutely adore you.

blushes every shade of crimson possible, maybe a couple that aren't

thank you

In all honesty, I haven't been able to get my voice to really work for anything other than erotica. But thats lack of skill on my part. Its got a stream of consciousness thing going on and that is hard to keep under control.
But I am trying and learning, I hope.
