What I know so far is that my heart muscle is bent out of shape and is barely working - why is it bent you ask? I have the heart condition known as Cardiomyopathy that is tied to my Friedreich's Ataxia. That and other health issues such as Graves ’ disease, Cellulitus, Septicaemia, Tachycardia,Atrial fibrillation and such did not help.
I am to go through a lot of tests and doctors visits still.
dooooooooooooooooooooooood!
you anywhere near coogee mid-november?
just the Coogee Surf Club
lol.......well it was a while back, nice sleazy part of town.![]()
when? i spent 4 months out of randwick in '94.

Guys I know both places & the Coogee Bay pub is less safe than the one up the Cross with assults on people who have had a couple of drinks getting bashed in the area.![]()
The last time I was in the Cross I don't think I would have noticed the mugging. Well maybe the next morning.![]()
Did you venture up to the Coach & Horses pubs? A short stagger back to the barracks & all down hill too to make it easier.
Coogee mid november is a great place to be with the beach, pub, local eating places & good public transport, perfect!
I grew up with my life centered in Coogee.![]()
Texas Tavern in Sydney is better......*if it is still there*!
This is surprising-I had no idea you'd grown up!
very probably. it's been quite a long time since i was there and i don't remember the names of all the pubs - if i was ever sober enough to know 'em.i recall one, not exactly in randwick, that was the red tomato? or the big tomato? something like that.
Hi everyone, reasonably new on Lit, living in Canberra and orignally from Melbourne. Took me a while to find this thread, I got stuck on the picture posts a bit. cheers
Red Tomato rings a bell but can't remeber where it is/was.
Was it here?
9 pics down.

doesn't ring any bells. i have a vague - obviously - memory of walking back to the mess with a *ahem* young lady after a session in 'the tomato'. it really is a blur. i'll just have to recce when i'm there next.
Gil has now changed medical centres - again. The one we have been going to for the last couple of years makes us wait too bloody long even if you have an appointmentTWO HOURS or longer one time. Unbelievable when we made the appointment the week before and there seemed to be people walking in off the street and being seen before us!
So he's now going to one just down the road and up around the corner which has been up and running for the past few months. There's a pharmacy attached to it too for convenience.
I'll probably continue going to the other one, just because the female doctor I've been seeing for my menopausal crap is very good.
Yes I BLURTED & VENTED big time as I went there this morning & was told I'd have to wait an hour & half to be seen for one script (a couple of minutes at most seeing it's all done on PC now, quicker with the old way of pen & paper) so they say make an appointment for larer today so I say OK then appointment time nears & I'm back early 1.15pm I'm there for my 1.30pm appointment & get told I'l have to wait a minimum of 1 hour maybe 2 so I lost it & told them that was it never again would I put up with an hour or 2 for appointments for a fucking GP who wants to charge for people who are late for their appointments! WTF!

and Americans think universal heath care is great! My Dr. used to pull that same trick on me, till I handed him a bill for my waiting time. they try to blame the scheduling nurse for appointments.![]()
Thanks for the welcome. Canberra isn't bad, we are just tainted by the politiciansWelcome Bulldog but question the use of "living in Canberra" an oxymoron?
