From a group at fet life:

"She outed herself as kinky at Dragon.con today, after doing so on Facebook several months ago."

"She didn't shy away once from answering questions about the scenes that are of a sexual nature she writes and shared with the audience of about 200 that she researched BDSM before writing about it in her Anita Blake series. Through the introduction to the BDSM world she found a niche and now her and her hubby are active in the lifestyle and she proudly declared to her fans that she is very dominant;)"

So, who's suprised?

Not me! :p

She took the BDSM in her Anita Blake books like a duck to water, I kinda wondered if she figured out that she's kinky through her research.

I'm no surprised either. I may find her sex scenes tedious most of the time but she gets the whole subs / strength thing well it seems.

Yep. Honestly, the sex scenes she writes that do something for me are the ones that involve some sort of power play. Like the first time she has sex with Nathaniel or when she had sex with Asher.

I agree!

I know. We've talked about her before, but it's cool to see she's 'out of the closet'. To tell the truth, the fact that she writes kink better than nilla was just one of the reasons I was pretty sure she's kinky. It's also why I think the character of Richard got shitcanned. Cause he's not happy with being kinky, plus he's too dominant to be with Anita. But then Richard is just an asshole, all around.

I agree. I can't stand Richard. He reminds me of my ex.

In the last book Richard was somewhat redeemed. Did you read it yet? I think it was titled Bullet?

Richard is her ex husband btw. That's what I believe.

Now that she has another kinky husband she is writing a little action again and writing better in general. I just wish she would write less sex because it's really not her forte as far as I can tell. She is just repeating herself too much with it.

I haven't. :(

I'm covetting it with all my strength, but I'm totally broke right now. I also want to read Kresley Cole's new one. I think. It looks kind of sad, so I think I want to read it.

Amen, sister. I've noticed she's writing less sex even in blood noir, I hope that continues. I wouldn't mind a bit, but sex over and over and over is getting obnoxious. She doesn't write sex well enough to write wanker stories.

Unlike Anne Rice, who, with her husband, was part of the original Janus Society decades ago, but won't talk about her Anne Rampling books and hates it when women come to her signings bringing them.

Such a shame, too, because those books, for all their silliness, are so wonderfully sex-positive.

OOH OUCH! :D

Yes. I don't get that AT ALL.

Agreed on all counts.

I've only read it because I got on the hella long waiting list and my library and lucked out!

It wasn't meant as a bad. I read a lot of different stuff. When I'm in the mood for a wanker story there are specific authors I go to, when I'm in the mood for something with action there are other authors I go to. L.K. Hamilton is an awesome author, her stories are AWESOME. I've read every single books she's ever written. I do not, however, go to her for wanking material.

No, Bullet.

I don't really read Kresley Cole much.

:rose:

That's what I thought. It's why I was confused. lol I haven't even bothered with the wait list at the library for LK Hamilton books. I'll get it, eventually. Have you read her newer Merry Gentry?

Ace. Maybe now she'll stop writing such tripe; the Meredith Gentry stuff is cringeworthy.

I have to say, and this will sound bad but I was talking with one of my besties today, we don't think she's really into BDSM at all. We just don't buy it. We think she's just playing at it and mostly has no real understanding of it.

I think she just likes kinky sex. I still figure she's kinky.
