My favorite story is my least read story and I suspect that the opportunity to increase readership for this story would be to:
1. Change the title – (Once an) Aspiring Writer
2. Change the description – (A cautionary tale: How to make a fortune with Literotica), and
3. Change category -- Group Sex (English)

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Allan Arbinger

Other stories:
Caboose (An unforgettably Hot Train Ride)
Elevator (No longer strangers when the power goes off.)
Spirits of the Sleeper (Boy Meets Girl. Boy Performs Exorcism)
Mission of God (Lecherous Hypnotist Meets Real Angel)

I have to be honest and say I thought from the title and description it should be in the How To section, so I would vote for yes.

I'm not too good with titles and descriptions. How about -

Title: Peace and Honey
Description: An idea, two sisters, and a helping hand.

My mind refused to read more than 5 paragraphs of your tale. I dont think hospice would help it much. Just put it down and move on.

I suggest you just move on to writing the next story and make any necessary adjustments with that one. Writing is a renewable resource.

An editor would help. There's a fair bit of cleaning up to do.

One reason to move on is changing anything to you story now will not get your more reads. The HUGE majority of Lit readers are going to do it while it sits on the New list, especially the first 2 or 3 days. Then, you will get a fair amount of reads if you manage to garner enough of a score to sit on the Top List 30 Day list inside the genre. Even if you manage to be on the One Year list, you won't get many more reads. Doing an edit will not get you back on the New list.

Bingo. This isn't the New Yorker. I never go back to fiddle with a posted story. That's in the past. I move on to the next. Quite often the Lit. posting is only a test drive for a for-fee piece anyway.

I don't even go back and do anything with a piece that turns out like crap -- like the last four (or more) stories I wrote.

Writing is rewriting

Allen,

What kind of help are you looking for? The three suggestions you offer were made to you in your thread of a few months ago:

http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=714616

It seems to me that the story has greater problems than these, and while I wouldn't suggest "putting it down" if it really is your favorite, you should consider taking some of that advice instead of simply asking for more.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone. Apparently, my self-appraisal is inflated.

I had lost the previous request and could not find it. It's been a big help.

Hi, ML. Yes, still here, lol...

Anyway, as to the poster, I agree with ML. Think military hardware. Think fire-and-forget missilies. Write, forget, move on. Make the next better than the last but don't try and perfect the first. It can make a person crazy.
