What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

Why would I stop?


U_D was convinced that the doom-and-gloomers were partisan hacks ROOTING for America to fail purely for political gain (like in Iraq) and that Obama would have us eating crow. Now we're seeing what blind partisan wishing for success will get us with U_D's unflagging support of the recovery that won't slip into a double-dip recession because everyone knows, Keynes is the man!

He railed against the Bush deficits and then stood up and cheered Obama's corrective deficit spending.

At least WE railed against the Bush-Pelosi stimulus efforts...

In a rare instance of journalists holding the President’s feet to the fire, the Cleveland Plain Dealer has exposed a falsehood in one of President Obama’s recent speeches to Ohio audiences:

President Barack Obama was incorrect Wednesday when, speaking in Columbus, Ohio, he credited the White House-based economic stimulus bill with helping to save a local architecture firm’s jobs, The Plain Dealer has confirmed.

The $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has nothing to do with the renovation of a Columbus police station. Obama, however, said that the stimulus helped pay for the renovation, providing work to architects at a small firm that otherwise would have had layoffs.

The money came from a federal grant that was unrelated to the stimulus, according to sources in Ohio and Washington, D.C.

Construction and renovation of police facilities is not a permissible use of stimulus funds unless the project falls under certain circumstances, such as construction of a jail on an Indian reservation, according to guidelines for stimulus grant applications.[...]

Asked about the president’s misstatement, White House spokesman Matt Lehrich told The Plain Dealer, “The President’s trip to Columbus was, in part, to highlight the role that small businesses, like Joe’s, will play in creating jobs in communities across the country. That’s a fact and it’s why he’s been urging Republicans to stop blocking a proposal to cut taxes for small businesses that are looking to grow and hire more workers.”

If I could not drive them off the board when Sarah Palin was running for Veep, how could I drive them off when she lost?

The Truth is what they're avoiding because frankly, for example, I resented Pookie demanding, "You Can Do The Math! Preventative care is going to get the indigent out of the emergency room and save us money!" and I'm going to say something about it now that we know it was a LIE!

But they'll be back closer to the election, to once again rail about how ignorant, stupid, greedy, and ugly "Republicans" are...

Yeah, he thinks it unreasonable for us to think the HamasQue isn't a sincere bridge-builder, but as I'm pointing out to him, when Bush was President, to zipperhead, Dubai running the ports was a clear and present danger to the US security...

Is that what it's like inside your head? Ignore someone and they magically go away? My son used to think that too, when he was two.

Most have just tired of the mental equivalent of bashing their head against a wall that is trying to talk to you about well, pretty much anything. You're the flip side of Le Jackass. Supremely confident, ego driven, and just as dead wrong as he is 90% of the time.

Now you're convinced that you're driven off all of those on the left. Do I have to draw another LT parallel?

It's not just lit. It's ever discussion board or blog site I've seen. Liberals went into hibernation. It's kinda sad.
