Had many of those fun runs when I was much younger with the wind, rain & or seas spray.

Were you pleased with your effort dealing with Mother Nature?

I wasn't at the time but reflecting back I am. It's my second best marathon time-but could easily have been my best if I did things a little differently! Still, I don't know that I want a personal best while dressed as a bogun!

as these are both boys, they're destined to be food anyway.
i know that - but everyone around me seems to think i won't be able to do the deed come christmas or thereabouts.
you betcha i'll be able to! i look at these little cuties, and i literally see lamb chops bleating at me! lol
besides, i've been killing my own food for many years (hunting kangaroos and rabbits, fishing, etc)

You are my kind of woman WQ!

There is a cross-country skiing marathon next weekend called the Hoppet at Falls Creek.

Sounds like the weather is going to be much the same, just swap beach with lakeside and salt water with sleet.

I'm glad I'm not a competitor, just a tag-along for the free weeks downhill skiing :D

Here & Now - some of my friends 'own and manage' the Hoppet event. Hope you have a great weekend.

[I get to use a 'free house' at Mt Beauty when i want some time away fom the city.]

Who turned on the A/C in Melbourne today?

It's hovering around 7/8/9 degrees and very windy. Just plain cold.

I had to grab a blanket and keep a constant supply of tea to keep my fingers defrosted to write my essay :)

... and then there were four!
4 lambs needing to be hand-fed.
it seems that ewes who have twins are prone to one-itis (they can't count past 1).
so now my days are spent waking before dawn, feeding the 2 smallest ones every 3 hours, and then feeding the 2 bigger ones every 6 before falling into bed - stuffed - around midnight!
and having lambs follow me around everywhere - bleating and wanting cuddles and reassurance.
my consolation is christmas..... lambchop (as he's known) will be just the right size for a spit bbq :D

you should be here :)
we made it to 5 deg, and it has been snowing.
but when the sun's out - it's just beautiful!

heh - i'm the mum who BANNED christmas!
enough of all the crap gift-giving and fake niceness one day a year.
we celebrate christmas on a day we choose - and we make an effort to be nice to everyone for the entire year (not just on one day when we're forced to pretend to enjoy the company of people we spend the year avoiding!)
and we don't invite people we won't spend time with any other time.

Does anyone really get anything they want at Xmas?

I don't think so only if the person know you well and know what you wanted to buy and get it for you..

that is why am happy if people don't give me any present

even for kids now i don't bother to buy anything most prefer money .. for adults if you happen to give anything a gift card will be the best ..they can go and do the shopping themselves turn out the best present as you can get from alcohol to even use it on your groceries ..
and they wont end up with little stuff that are rubbish and they don't want and try to get rid of as a gift in someone else :D

lol - i'd invite all the aussies for chrissy dinner...... if it weren't for the fact that about 30 people seem to have invited themselves already!
(a lot are coming 2 days prior, because they want film and picture evidence of me actually killing little 'chop' and peeling and gutting him. apparently there's some good money going both ways on whether i'll be able to do it or not!)
