There are only about 16 million Baptists in the world - mostly in the US - and their history barely goes back more than a hundred or a hundred and fifty years. Ditto for the evangelical movements. Claims of high conversion rates are mostly based on "born agains" who convert and move between different churches...

In my experience almost every single Baptist and/or evangelical (its hard to tell them apart to be honest) is poorly educated and gullible. Most are also pretty annoying too.

Exactly in your experience. You don't know every single Baptist in the world just like they don't know every Muslim in the world. You cannot call them all retards if you haven't met ever single one of them. You shouldn't say anything about anyone. If I don't agree with other people beliefs that's fine but they have a right to believe what they want to. When certain individuals spout hate towards other peoples beliefs just because of what a few people did that's when I have problem. Religion makes things complicated. I am a Christian but I don't follow every single word in the bible. If I have a personal relationship with God then that's all that matters.

What's funnier is that people who know jack shit about Islam have decided they are the "experts" and that they have a right - nay DUTY - to tell the rest of us how to live. Get over it guys. The real reason for the hatred boils down almost entirely to the fact that we bring a new culture, a new religion, something that you have NEVER encountered before. By wearing separate clothing, following dietary restrictions and keeping our own faith, we are spitting in the face of everything you believe in. You are frightened, I think, that we might be RIGHT and that we might convert your family and neighbors.

And that scares you. You've spent your entire life constructing your identity. You believe your own religion to be correct. And in fact everyone else is going to hell. Thats what Christians actually believe. Its not what WE believe. And on a more practical level we threaten you by removing any status associated with your church and lifestyle. If nobody cares what church you pray at then suddenly all those years of devotion are wasted.

We are unique because we present a system which you cannot destroy or take away. Everyone else has either been forced into submission and had their traditional culture destroyed or has been removed from your sight. The Hindus, Australian Aborigines, American Indians, Wicca, Hawai'ians, the Gypsies, various black African religions... All of them have been so marginalized as to be "none threats".

AND most of them cannot take in white Euro-American converts for one reason or another. Oh people might claim to be Hindus but they cannot fully be part of the rituals. And American Indian religions were shattered by alcohol and missionaries. Very few remain intact and many have had to fight for their legal rights. Ditto for Voodoo and other African religions.

But Islam. No. We have preserved our faith and our identity. And whats more we actually present a separate world view which can accommodate your people. White Americans are converting to Islam and finding acceptance in the Ummah. That scares you because we are pretty much the ONLY alternative to your religious paradigm.
