And so closes the chapter on 19-year-old Colton Harris-Moore.

Harris-Moore, achieved folk hero status for his uncanny ability to elude authorities for years -- on foot, in stolen cars and even airplanes.

The teen's mother, Pam Koehler, has hailed her son as a genius, even if of the criminal sort.

"He's smart. He took an IQ test a few years ago and he's three points below Einstein," she said last year.

Just hope he can use that intelligence to avoid catching AIDS in the slammer.:)

Whadda load of crock! Einstein never took an IQ test. She's just trying for a book deal.

How about a movie for cable? This kid's story's a natural. People love to see others do things they wouldn't have the guts to do themselves and get away with it for a while.

Even his capture was like a movie...the cops had to shoot his boat's motor to end a high speed chase.

Folk hero or narcissistic/antisocial personality disorder. You make the call.

Hey Bear...who is that cute young woman in front of the big bear?

A lady of taste and indiscretion. The picture was on her website for a while but its gone, now. Pity, that, but at least I managed to save it for my own use! :D

Update

'Barefoot Bandit' appears in US court

Earlier Wednesday, Harris-Moore's Bahamian lawyer told ABC television's "Good Morning America" that her wayward client was ready to lead a new life.

"He says that if he had come from a stable home he may not have done the things he did," Monique Gomez said. "He said to me he intends to change his life."

Harris-Moore was arrested Sunday after a dramatic high-speed boat chase on Bahamas Harbour Island, one week after police found the wreckage of a stolen plane they believe he flew to the archipelago.

Gomez said her client had complimented the beauty of the islands where he was briefly on the run as an international manhunt sought to track him down.

"He also said the next time he comes, he's going to make sure to come legally," she said, adding that she had joked with the wily teen that he should apply for a job with the CIA and use his talents for good.

"He said, yeah, sure, he'd think about it in a few years," she said, adding that the teenager boasted that he would be able to catch Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden if given the chance.

"He said if the CIA gave him a month he's sure he'd be able to capture him."

"He's highly skilled, very intelligent," Gomez added. "I'm very confident that if he puts his mind to it he can do anything."

Makes you chuckle doesn't it. :)
