So here comes the first hard match for the Nationalmannschaft in the 2010 Weltmeisterschaft. (yup we got all our own special and way too long words for this stuff)
Germany vs Argentina
What a match it’s gonna be. Maradona on the field is trouble, even when he’s not playing. At this stage only one can move on, no mercy for the looser, no chance even for 3rd.
Some names to watch for if you are interested.
For Argentina:
For Germany:
I swear I'm impartial.
Both games have an extreme soccer culture, and both produce exceptional players. Both also have a national style of play, and they are very different.
It’s gonna be one well of a game, but I have hope. Though Germany playing well seems a 50/50 thing at the moment. The current squad has played pathetically in 2 matches, and wonderfully in 2 others. Historically Germany always stops dragging their feet towards the end of the cup, but then again this is no typical Germany team.
Personally I’m all for them, they play typically German enough, really I'd be fine if they deviated a bit more, it would probably help more than hurt. Move away from those extreme basics, do a bit more when you got the ball.
So all you American, Ausi and UK chicks are more than welcome to come over and cheer for the good guys. It's hard work, looking cute and energized for the whole pre game party, match, caravan, post game party, and drunken songs, but if you cheer hard enough you too will share in the title of "Weltmeister", (World-Masters).
Game starts 7am pacific time. I'm expecting a full on clash, it's gonna be messy... for Messi.
PS. the competition tree
