What happened to all of the doom and gloom economic threads?

If you have no money, you buy no products. When enough people buy no products, the plant gets closed. Jobs are lost.

Thus, unemployment checks create jobs.

Picking up oil off the beaches isn't job creation....

What is wrong with you?? There was never enough focus on jobs, from day one, thats pretty obvious. Now the chickens come home to roost....I am sorry to say. I don't why this is such a shock to everyone, Obama had an agenda and it didnt matter who suffered for him to get it. Every politican running in 2010 and beyone should hammer this home. Personally, I think the Jewish vote is up for grabs but thats a different discussion.

How would you have the president focus on jobs?

Haven't you heard, unemployment checks create jobs.

Unemployment checks are excellent at creating jobs. People on unemployment immediately spend 100% of their checks in the private sector.

Cutting taxes is far less effective since better-off people save their money and often invest it overseas.

The only jobs that obama is focused on are government jobs. I’m not sure if you own a house or not, but let’s assume you did. Would you be willing to put that on the line to start a company?

omg yes! and unemployment checks increase the GDP!

I already own a PC repair and consulting company. It'd doing better than ever. We're booked two weeks out and probably need to hire another full timer.

pc repair was a good biz, 20 years ago. Poor ROI. and if you have a biz with employees why don't you work there?

sorry, total BS

Huh? Here you are again, exposed for your ignorance.

What do you know about the PC repair biz? Regardless of the industry as a whole (which apparently you're an expert on), if there's a market in a given location, biz is good. Right now in my location the market is great. We have a two week waiting list while barely even advertising. Most of our referrals are just word of mouth or people looking us up online/Yellow pages.

I have an HR degree and work in HR. I like it. I have time to run a small business on the side. Yes I work my ass off and work at least one day per weekend if not both, but I like both of my jobs. I do enjoy PC repair but I couldn't fathom doing it full time - too tedious. If my PC repair business grows enough I'd consider selling it though.

how can anyone go 2 weeks with out his or her pc? how could a company allow a workstation to be down for 2 weeks?

You really know nothing about how business works, do you?

Oh please enlighten me on business…hurry up and read the next chapter “small business for dummies”

I'm glad your clients can wait 2 weeks to fix a workstation:rolleyes:

My degree is in HR, which is a business specialty. I took a heap of business classes in college. I'm qualified to run a small business. Most small business owners have far less education and experience than me.

Do some of our customers go elsewhere when they hear we're booked? They sure do. Which is why I just said I'm considering hiring another full-time worker.

But we also get customers who come to us because another company has a longer wait, because they had a bad experience elsewhere (common), or because we're cheaper.

75% of our customer base is residential home users as we're located in a suburban area. And we get a lot of college students as we're located by a state university. So they can wait.

We also offer loaner laptops at no cost when there's a wait - which is something that none of our competition does as far as we know. When customers have a way to still check email during the waiting period they end up being pretty patient.

Our fees are per-job and I pay the staff per-job and not by the hour. So the more we work, the more everyone gets paid. So it's common for us to get to customers on the waiting list quicker than we thought.

Do you have any other questions?

Weren't you trying to convince us at one point that you were a MD/Psychiatrist? The content of your posts betrayed your boast. Is this the truth...this time?

I don’t understand that business model and there are too many issues and too many opportunities to lose money. Residential pc repair is one pc at a time, means that you have a limited revenue stream. Also your clients have a limited budget to work with.

*facepalm*

Sometimes small businesses lack the labor capacity to meet the needs of a given market.

Which is why for the third time, I'm reminding you that I'm looking at hiring an additional full timer.

This decision is not something to be taken lightly though. If business slacks off a bit, which is always does a little during the summer when people use computers less and most of our college kids aren't around, then I'm possibly stuck with a pissed-off staff. So I may wait until September to hire.

And I have no idea what your point is that our customers have a limited budget. Is there some kind of bizarro world that you know of where a customer doesn't work on a budget?

if you say this 5 more times....i'm sure you will belive it even more! I bet on your made up biz card, it says CEO

How about not passing the health care bill... how about less spending. less tax hikes on investors, businesses, and individuals. Health care was our fastest job creators, we took a major step backwards.

Outcome and results, thats what Obama will be judged on. By the way, businesses create jobs, not goverment
