So it's just a normal day in the Bool, give it 5 minutes & it will change. We used to go down for the speedway & get sunburnt & then catch the flu all in one day.

A bit harsh even though the suns out today

Hi all, hope you have a great day while I clean up after 3 teenagers that have been home all week. I trained my dog to do sit, stay, fetch, shit in one place all that sort of stuff but the kids can't even put their clothes in the wash.

are dogs smarter than teenagers?

thank you:) I was starting to think it was me as they were all telling me it was:

heh - my teen daughter has decided that at 15, she's ready to live on her own and has moved out.
she's making a LOT of bad choices now.... not a lot i can do to stop her (especially as she's run from me before, and has been living with her dad for the last 9 mths)

i guess i can only sit back and wait for the BIG FALL, and then do what i can to help.

i'm rapidly becoming a devotee of the theory that teen brains shut down certain sections for a few years

A friend of my father only employs teenagers as they seem to know everything

What a tough time you must be going through it must be hard. and there's nothing worse than being played off against the other parent. I get, but mum lets me, all the time

Bad news WQ, my daughter is in her early 30s & is still making huge mistakes that worry the hell out of me.

Don't know what you lot are all complaining about - the the next two weeks I'll be LOVING the cold - 'cause I'm going skiing at Mt Hotham, and if there's no snow I'll be a very sad masseur - with time on my hands

my mum once told me that we had being kids but they will always be parents

When I had the boys I used to ring dad and apologies I must have caused him so much grief when I was younger

at 15, the kidlet is drinking, smoking, has lost her virginity, and has recently been caught tagging.
all this after the drug incident last year....
and now she's moved out of her dad's, and has no intention of living with either him or myself again.
she's pretty much told me to butt out of her life.
so - against everything in me, i am doing just that.
*sigh* maybe allowing her to have the BIG FALL that we know is coming will turn her around....
the authorities have made it perfectly clear to us as parents that we DO NOT have the right to make her go anywhere she doesn't want to - and they [very helpfully] have told the kidlet that also.
so now she thinks she's free...

*sigh#2* right now, i'm suffering from a huge uterine infection.... definitely not a well chicken.... and having the added stress of the kidlet isn't helping :(

oh no you poor thing, UTIs are awful.
and certainly the stress can't be helping.

I can't honestly give you advice as I don't have kids - but I'm sure things will eventually work out (Despite the heartache she is causing you now)

heads up. she still loves you even if she doesnt' show it.

x

Okay Aussies I have a question I have been wondering about for a while now.

Why is it when men want to do something with their mates for the weekend they always say (and in front of mates and usually with a beer in hand) "Can .... get a weekend pass for next weekend?"

What the fuck does that mean? Why do they put it like that, like they have to ask permission and why the need for mates to be beside them?

Now my immediate urge is to punch the stupid fucking smirk right off their faces for what I view as a smartarse attitude towards me but I manage to get out a somewhat normal response of "if he wants to"

And while I am on the subject, why is it women never get to have a 'weekend pass' unless they take their children with them? WTF!!!

Guess that was 2 questions huh.

heh - with HIM away for 4 weeks and home for 4 weeks, i get a months worth of weekend passes without having to ask!
mind you, i pay back in kind.... when HE's home, we do what HE'd like for those 4 weekends :)
it's actually working well for us.

perhaps you could shock the shite out of them by saying 'NO'!
just to see what happens ;)
