I'm not long home from doing some shopping. Haven't been bitten by the shopping bug for ages but enjoyed wandering around the shops tonight.
Didn't buy a single pair of shoes  but did manage to get some gorgeous little outfits for Blaize and a couple of pairs of comfy pants for myself.

I'm quite looking forward to the coming weekend as I have the house to myself with tv remote in hand, strawberries in the fridge and some good craft supplies to keep myself occupied. Ahhhh bring on the weekend!!

Shoes won't be important for a while yet except some nice comfy slip ons.

Enjoy your weekend of luxury & leasure.

*shakes head* oh dear this is why the say don't discuss politics.

yes each to their own opinion. And yes I too think your opinions lustatopia are a bit over the top, the rural community and the ones surrounding where my mother lives certainly don't have anything extra in their town. let alone a 500 (metRE) sidewalk (american!?) to no where

Rudd has stimulated plenty, I've gladly taken his money, so did my family when they had damage from the black saturday bush fires last year. Let alone assissting us from getting hit by (he didn't do it alone, we were in pretty good stead) the economic downturn

as for full employment under howard - I think not - I certainly (not through lack of trying) didn't have one

Either way - like ALL politicians they do some things good for some people, which are bad for others and vice versa - sure there were things he could do better but he did some things I'm greatful for that Howard would never have done (regardless, Howard didn't win his seat so he was never back in the running!)

*whistles* moving right along

WEEKEND?!
any plans

craft supplies?!
what sort?

I'm just starting to get into the scrapbooking again. And I bought a few dress patterns the other week to whip up during the hols :D

WEEKEND?!
any plans

On Saturday we have a Reunion of friends I raced speedway with, & booked into a motel as expecting a long night of it.

Wait? Did we vote lately and I didn't realize?

We have a female PM now? What hole have I been living in to miss anything about this.

Gil...anyone...help me?!

Rural Victoria can be like that I'm told. We have a Ranga for PM & it is a female Ranga too! (Ranga=redhead)

something along the lines of most of the labor party lost confidence in rudd and backed Gillard. some big arse unions pulled out and would only back her too

(or something to that extent)

Rudd press conference 10:30pm last night about having a special caucus meeting this morning with a leadership vote

in the end he didn't even run for the party vote, he stood aside and Julia was unapposed

ta da
now you are all caught up

oh the best kicker is - it isn't overly media stimulated (as most party leader upsets seem to be at least partially helped along by media) this one was a bit unexpected and the media were on the back foot

Well, even if I didn't know anything about it, I'm just glad I didn't miss the voting. I hate the fines over that.

And can't afford it.

yay for friday
thank god it's nearly school holidays I need a sleep in (only a week to go)

actually, i believe it was the article in the media (sydney morning herald?) on monday morning that triggered all of this.
in that article, rudd is quoted directly as questioning julia's loyalty - and given that up till now she has unfailingly given rudd her complete loyalty, my guess is that this [literally] made her see red.
and i don't blame her one bit.
rudd has had a habit of sticking his foot in all the way to the knee.

i'll admit, i'm a fan of gillard..... and i'm hoping she lives up to the expectations placed on her by me and others.

Good morning. Freezing here so in bed with 2 dogs and the electric blankee.
Good luck to Julia. She was doing the job most of the time anyway, Kevin was overseas so often.
As an aside, my eldest son bought 2 puppies yesterday and called them Julia and Kevin lol

I thought it was the article in the age about kevin sending some guy around to check peoples loyalty to him (and not to julia).

We'll see how she goes, but all in all I don't think it's an earth-shattering change.

I'm surrounded Our head of state Liz in england rep the lovely Quentin Bryce gg gave the okay for Jules to take our top job my boss at work Helen thought it was great and my 13 yr old daughter is in on the act now they are all telling me what I can do

good afternoon aussies :)

well, winter has hit with a vengeance!
top temp today was 5 degrees, after a low of -2!!!
to say it has been a cold one today is slightly understating things!

however, no snow to speak of yet, so skiing is out till we get a few falls of note.

Hello all, feel strangely compelled to keep returning here to say G'day G'day.

I hope everyone is warm and toasty and not too cold;)
