I like these small pieces. I used to write some back in the day. They never turned out to be as well-written, though. lol

I tend to only have enough patience for smaller pieces. It's like the thought is complete and that's all I have to say. Quite satisfying :)

Have you shared any of your writing on here?

That's exactly one of the reasons why I like them. I think the longest piece I wrote was a horror story around 8 pages.

No, I don't think I have. I was gonna paste one here, but I don't have any of my files on my desktop's hard drive.

I love thunder storms :)
What are you painting?

There is one piece I've been meaning to finish...but today I'm feeling a bit more monochromatic and devising an ode to Banksy

I've maybe reached a few pages with an erotic piece. I could probably win a competition based on brevity..

Well..if you're inspired to write another short piece, or long, feel free to post it here! It would be a welcome contribution :)

Have you seen the documentary film called Exit Through The Gift Shop?

It is a film partially by, and partially about, Banksy, but also about the underground Street Art scene, including one figure who just happened to be there with a camera as much of it was unfolding. It is, so far, the best film I've seen this year. That's really not huge praise, though, because I've seen far too many shit films this year.... But still, it is great!

I hope it wins an Oscar for Best Documentary.

I don't know... In a way, I found Theirry to be a kind of genius, or idiot-savant. I think, on some level, he saw the game component of the art business and cut through all the nonsense to the ultimate goal: Wealth and celebrity.

If you think about it, what he did in the art world was not too different from his clothing business, where he'd buy pallets of clothes for $50 and sell individual pieces for $400. Genius!

Lastly, there are rumors that the whole film, and Theirry in particular, were complete fabrications.

In a way, I'm not sure I even care.

PS: I got to meet Shepard a while back. He created an amazing painting on a concrete wall in an alt art gallery. Unbelievably, it got painted over when the show ended. Ah well... it is the fragility of art. I suppose you've seen Rivers & Tides... I love that film. In fact, I need to watch it again.

Lastly, and I can't say exactly why, I thought you might enjoy this photo that I took a few years ago. You get some sort of virtual prize if you can guess where I took it... (not the location, specifically, but the associated event.)

There are a few other pix from the same event on my new art thread, linked in my sig.
