*sigh* Some people have all the luck... at midday I was only 1/2 way through the working day (starting from 0600) and while you were watching a movie, I was calling all over the country saying "your alarm's going off, what do you want to do?" (and explaining why we couldn't switch it off)... and I have to do the same thing tomorrow!

Oh well, it pays the bills...

So what movie did you see?

*sigh indeed*
no fun! but yes it pays the bills :D such is life

(its not a usual occurence that I get out of bed at midday on a satuday. I'm usually up at 7am to go to the gym)

I watched 'whip it' (the drew barrymore roller derby one) was quite good. i enjoyed it.

Anyone else remember the roller game in Aussie? in Sydney they used the Sydney Stadium down at Rushcutter Bay, what a great venue it was "The old tin shed" as it was known saw lots of great music, wrestling, roller derby, boxing etc that I got to see as a kid because my granny was in charge of the consession stands (sweets, chip, chocs, peanuts (in the shell) & drinks.

they still have it here in Adelaide :D it has made a comeback - I really should get around to going :D

welcome Ndoorfin

yay for Sunday... and totally having a public holiday tomorrow

hi again :)

spent the rest of today being chauffered around by p-plate number1son.... he's finally decided that he's ok to drive his car again (well, after first doing a full inspection of all surfaces, including using a mirror to check underneath, to eliminate all rottweiler/spiders).
delinquent daughter delivered back to dad - and probably already wreaking havoc with the purple witch (stepmum) and the oldies (his parents also live there).
kamikazi-kidlet (son no. 2 and the youngest) seems as happy as usual - and so far this weekend hasn't knockedscrapedbrokentwisted any part of himself. but there's still tomorrow.....

HE will be back wed evening  for a whole month!
YAYNESS!!!
(then HE's away for a month again..... i'm being terribly strong and brave about this new job, convincing myself that HIM being away for so long will make it seem like we're starting over each time.... dammit! i need my illusions!

it'll be nice to have HIM back..... HE can finally go about fixing the limo (my car). needs to have the head taken off and machined and all gaskets done, and the little hole in the exhaust manifold welded, and the radiator needs flushing, and an oil change..... i have a LIST.

sunday night..... think i might have some of that lovely frozen port i got from Adelaide a few weeks ago.....

fish for dinner? what kind?

sounds like you have your offspring sorted out WQ

ho hum... feel like i need a cuddle tonight *sigh*

though the warm blanket and pillows are doing an excellent job

i love camping.
and fishing.
in fact, i'm having fish for dinner tonight.....

(sorry to hear about all those campers that got washed away in Arkansas..... )

I camp in the mountains, water runs away from me. :D That place floods every year, you would think they would learn.

thanks for the welcoming. Its a bit nerveracking when the kids first start driving you around myyoungest daughter about to get her l's and thinks grand theft auto is a training manual.
love to go camping up around eildon in vic and pambula in nsw

queens bithday holiday needs a name change what do others think

bring on the republic

while Australia remains part of the Commonwealth it remains the Queens Birthday.
As for the republic movement - It's had it's chance - it was put to the referendum mate and defeated .. it only raises it's head when ever Labour get into power

I actually watched the plebicide we had and we were robbed and don't forget the last leader of the liberals was actually the president of the republican movement at one point
As for labour they only crap on about it as a distraction when their going shit and their full of shit at the moment
I'm a swinging voter I'm a republican and I just want to have some fun with it

I can understand that... being military I don't like Labour much - every time they get in the ADF starts to lose bases and money, but having said that - there will allways be debate about a republic. Good or bad, people will still argue about it
