The Isolated Blurt BDSM Thread

It is quite fascinating, actually. The whole culture up there is really interesting. The dead bodies look more like mummies than anything else, because of the lack of oxygen and cold temperatures. And the shifting terrain is amazing. They have to move their tents at base camp a few times during the two months they stay there because the ground beneath them is constantly moving.

I'll see if I can get a few of the photos. They're not at all gory.
FUUUUUCk yeah!

Sadists are insane. There's NO joy to be had watching someone you love suffer.

See, what reads as my unrestrained self-confidence is actually, in fact, my ability to create and believe in fantastical-yet-compelling delusions.

"It's not that he didn't like me, it's just that he is in the witness protection program and doesn't want to draw me into the sordid mess of a life he has created. Poor guy."

:) Welcome to K's happy world!:)

Yeah, it's okay. I live there, myself. But it's cool. The grass is always green and the sky's are always blue.

Well, unless I want the grass to be pink and the sky purple. :D

I am really pulling for you during this shitty time. :rose:

Yup. Me, too. *hugs*

I always come here and forget to put what I came her to put.

I hate being sick. I'm up, again, cause of a coughing fit. So I had to take my vicodin laced cough syrup so I can sleep, which just annoys me cause I need to cough this shit up, but I need my sleep also.

If this turns into bronchitis/pneumonia I'm not going to be happy. It's almost time for me to get my shots and they're very cranky about giving them to me if I've got bronchitis or pneumonia. :(

I've been taking St John's Wort for two days now and I think it's really fucking with my head and body :(

How do I take St. John's wort?

Both the leaves and the flowers of St. John's wort are harvested, dried, and put into liquid or pill form. The dried leaves may also be used as a tea.

Typically, 2 to 4 grams of powdered St. John's wort is taken three times a day for several weeks. It may also be taken twice a day as a tea made with 1 to 2 teaspoons of the dried herb.

Preparations in the U.S. have varied amounts of active ingredient in them. So be careful to note how much you're getting in your tablets.
What should I watch for if I take St. John's wort?

You should be alert for any of the following effects if you are taking St. John's Wort:

* allergic reactions
* fatigue and restlessness with long-term use
* increased blood pressure
* increased sensitivity to the sun -- especially if you are fair-skinned and taking large doses
* stomach upsets

What precautions should I take with St. John's wort?

Herbal therapies are not recommended for pregnant women, children, the elderly, or those with compromised immune systems. In addition, some herbs have sedative or blood-thinning qualities. Consequently, they may interact dangerously with NSAIDs or other pain medications. Others may cause gastrointestinal upset if taken in large doses.

Research from NIH has shown that St. John's wort may reduce the effectiveness of several drugs, including birth control pills and some heart disease medications. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you are taking.

Always tell your doctor if you are taking St. John's wort or any other herbal product.
What other precautions should I take with herbal remedies?

Here are additional precautions you need to take to increase the safety of using herbal remedies:

* Discuss any drugs you use, including herbal products, with your doctor.
* If you experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, insomnia, diarrhea, or skin rashes, stop taking the herbal product and notify your doctor.
* Avoid preparations made with more than one herb.
* Beware of commercial claims of what herbal products can do. Look for scientific-based sources of information.

Which brands of herbal products are most effective?

There are no regulations on herbal products, so select brands carefully. Only purchase brands that list the herb's common and scientific name, the name and address of the manufacturer, a batch and lot number, expiration date, dosage guidelines, and potential side effects.

Okay. I like this one, too. But it didn't seem particularly empathetic.

Thank you both.

Except for the joy of who feel neglected and unloved if there isn't a little bit of suffering... ;)

And if you know you want somebody to make you suffer, wouldn't you rather be with somebody who loved you than somebody who didn't? Exactly.

But it sucks you're in such a state anyway. Have a hug

They picked the wrong kind of pain meds.

The very, very, very wrong kind.
Been there, done that. In fact, been there, *doing* that, as they're trying to get me off the narcotic pain meds (vicodin, percocet, morphine) and onto Ultram, yet another opioid, but one that the doctor seems to think will have fewer undesired side effects. According to what I read online, though, the side effects are for the most part identical. :: blink blink :: But ... it's not a DEA-scheduled drug.

I'm going to give it a good try, though. The docs do have just a bit ;) more ed-you-ma-cation than I do, and presumably more and better knowledge, so I'll give it an honest trial. If it doesn't keep me functional, though, I'm gonna damn sure let them know that it's not the answer and that I want "the good stuff" back.

ETA: Strange... the censor ***s out the original drug name I typed in for the new one, but not the brand name... :confused:

I hate preparing for visitors. A huge amount of cleaning, plus fixing the puncture in the air bed. Oh, and hiding all the sex toys, which are usually scattered all over the place.

And the lack of noisy sex... and having to be non-obvious D/s wise.

I don't know what it is about sitting at their feet that brings such a feeling of calmness and safety, but I miss it. Almost as much as I miss them.

I want to chunk my hair purple, pierce my eyebrow, and wear corsets every day and not get shit about it.

We should totally be friends. I've wanted my eyebrow pierced since college, but unfortunately scar pretty easily and didn't want a mark on my face for the rest of my life. Stupid common sense and practicality winning out.

And purple doesn't show up in my hair, unless it's neon. :(

Yes, a non-middle-eastern girl CAN wear a Saree. They're just clothes, for heaven's sake!
You know who looks unexpectedly good in a Sari? A mid-western, corn-fed white boy. So much for forced cross-dressing--the dude looked like Siddhartha all of a sudden. Even though we tucked the skirt into his tighty whities.

If we ever end up in the same town I so want to sit down and have coffee with you.
:rolleyes:
